Wordless Wednesday — First Skate

Olivia -- First Skate

She stands, she skates…

Well — not exactly.

During the holidays, Olivia borrowed a pair of skates from our friends and we went skating. This picture however, is not at the ice rink. It is on the driveway! (Which really was a snow covered sheet of ice!)

Olivia was so impatient to “go figure skating” she just couldn’t wait. So I took her outside to go “skating” on the driveway. She had a fabulous time and I just tried my best to balance her and my camera at the same time.

Mom Bloggers (and Dad Bloggers too!) post a photo on your site, link up and find others… Wordless Wednesday is tons of fun. (And I know it says “wordless” but I just can’t bear to not write anything! If I had created it, I probably would have named it something different! LOL)

Here is a fun thumbnail linky…

But if you prefer the old style, you can use this linky:

Thanks to Uisce for creating Wordless Wednesday.

Well, the smile on her face shows that she doesn’t care if she’s on her knees or not. She is having a blast no matter what is happening.
    Great job mom!

I’ll bet she had the time of her life! One of my nieces had her 5th birthday party at the skating rink and she loved every minute of it. I got lots of pictures of her shuffling across the ice, clutching the upside-down buckets the rink had handy for little ones. What fun memories!

(I’m hopping to every blog linked up to last year’s Ultimate Blog Party! Have a beautifully blessed day!)

Living in the south my girls will most likely not ice skate which is unfortunate because I grew up on them back in WI. That is a great shot of her and I love her fearless spirit!

This is so cute – my four year old went ice skating at the rink for the very first time last week and she had a ball. Then we got a big (and rare) southern snow and so now I think she thinks she lives in a winter wonderland!

Olivia is such a cutie! I think I spent more time down on the ice than up & skating during my few attempts at it. Good for her for her enthusiasm and for you for just making it work! :> Looking forward to hopping to some other WW posts & seeing what else is going on in the mamas’ worlds! :>

How fun. My son just started asking about skating after I’ve asked for 3 years. I;m from Michigan and that;s how we spent our Friday nights. Ice skating. We’ve tried roller skating and that was a bust but I’m ready for the ice…the REAL stuff.
