The Disney Social Media Moms Celebration is a fabulous, unique, hybrid mom/family conference. This was it’s 7th year and was again held in Disney World. In it’s 5th year, the event was held in Disneyland.
Disney Social Media Moms Celebration is a special mix of press event, blogging conference and family vacation with lots of Disney magic. Similar to other press events, the number of attendees has to be limited and registration is by invitation from Disney. Attendees include a mix of mom and dad bloggers, travel bloggers, Disney focused bloggers and others.
Many people might not realize that while the event is invite-only, there is a fee for the blogger to attend the conference and extra fees for each guest family member. The fees to attend are actually rather significant, but discounted from what the full price of the hotel, park tickets and events would be.
Janice and I have had the special opportunity to attend the conference multiple times because we actually started off helping co-host the conference back in 2010. The event has continued to get bigger and better each year, and Janice has attended a few times and I have a few times as well.
Each year, the Disney team spreads the invites out to different bloggers and usually a blogger will only be invited back 2 or 3 times. So when neither Janice nor I were invited last year, we didn’t mind at all as we were happy to see new bloggers get this magical opportunity.
But last month, near the end of the rounds of invitations, Janice received an invite and we decided she would attend with me and our three girls as guests.
We truly love Disney and our girls were over the moon excited to return to Disney World again. It had been 4 years since our girls had been to Disney World and our 8 year olds couldn’t really remember too much from the last visit. We were so thrilled to create memories together with them now that Olivia and Sophia are 8 years old and Julia turned 11 years old on Mother’s Day during the trip.

We are incredibly thankful to Disney for recognizing the power of moms in social media and the position moms play in planning family vacations. Their continued support of the blogging community with this annual celebration shows their respect for what all of the mom blogging community is doing.
