I’ve been participating in Monday Mingle for a few weeks now and I’m loving it more each week.
It is phenomenal how much faster you get to know someone when you’re seeing, hearing and reading what they have to say.
My Monday Mingle response is at our video conversation site Say It Face To Face.
You can join in Monday Mingle by recording a video answering the weekly questions and publish it on your own blog and/or even just as a response on Say It Face To Face. Then link up at EightyMPHMom.com.
I know vlogging takes some getting used to… it did for me too. But the more I do it, the easier it gets and the more fun I have connecting with others.
Monday Mingle and Say It Face To Face are perfect ways to get started vlogging. You don’t even have to think of what to vlog about… just answer other people’s questions. Easy and fun.
This week’s questions were submitted by Amy from Mevolving…thanks Amy!
1. If you could be any literary / movie character who would it be and why?
2. What is your biggest phobia?
3. Do you have any pets? What are they and what are their names?
And again in February, we’re running the same contest with cash prizes as we did in January.
1st Prize – $150 – User who starts the conversation that receives the most video responses.
2nd Prize – $100 – User who adds the largest total number of conversation starters and replies.
3rd Prize – $50 – Random user who adds a reply or starts a conversation in the month of January.
So pull out your video camera or turn on your webcam, start mingling with Monday Mingle and join some great conversations at Say It Face To Face.
Talk soon,
Susan

I don’t have a face to face acct as yet so I’ll just let you know that I saw you.
I will have to sign up for an account so I can comment on your vlogs there.
I didn’t know you also owned that site.
I don’t like bugs either. If they venture in my house, they’ll die!
For now we don’t have any pets either so I’m hoping the kids will choose sometime.
Good to see you again and hear your voice.
see you soon!

Tara and Mary, yes I hear you about the time thing… video upload and processing time can be a hassle. And yes Mary, listening to vlogs can take longer than reading a post.
For these and many more reasons I do not see vlogging replacing blogging for me or for the rest of the momosphere. Instead I see vlogging as one component of my time spent networking and connecting online. Some parts of it can take longer, but if your goal is to build relationships it can actually be time well spent.
But, don’t get me wrong… I totally understand not having enough time online… that is my struggle daily too.

Yeah, in theory I see the appeal of vlogging but I have so little computer time these days that the extra time to do so seems like an insurmountable obstactle (and the time I get usually has daddy behind me and baby playing peekaboo with him around my legs – no idea why they can’t go play elsewhere!)
I hardly even listen to vlogs actually; they take me way longer to process (I’m an extremely fast reader)

I love the idea of vlogging but wow… it takes so much time that I feel like I must be missing something. Record the video, download the video to youtube, wait for them to make it viewable, download it to the blog… it is just way easier to type.
