Broccoli salad is perfect any time of year. It’s a great side dish or even a meal in itself!

Lightened Up Broccoli Salad with Bacon. Broccoli salad is perfect any time of year. It's a great side dish or even a meal in itself!

We lightened this up and made it healthier by using Greek yogurt in place of mayonnaise, swapping dried fruit with whole fruit, and using a sugar substitute instead of sugar.

To toast the pumpkin seeds, place them in a small pan over medium heat. Cook, tossing constantly, for about two minutes or until fragrant. Watch them closely, and immediately remove them from the pan to stop the cooking.

Some delicious and colorful add-ins or substitutions would be blueberries, grapes, shredded carrot, sliced almonds, sunflower seed, or sharp cheddar cheese cubes.

How to make this Lightened Up Broccoli Salad with Bacon

Special note: Be sure to choose a sweet apple. We like Fuji or Honeycrisp.

This looks super tasty! I always use Greek yogurt instead of mayo. I don’t have an apple at home, but I have everything else and I’m thinking this may be on the table tonight!
