Celebrating Brothers and Sisters with Cute as a Bug

Christmas Giveaway 2007 Sweepstakes

Jackson had waited for so long. He had hoped, prayed, and even cried as the months and years went by, asking me, “Why won’t God give us a baby? You had one in your belly once – I remember.”

You see, when Jackson was three, I had a miscarriage and it broke his heart. Watching him suffer as he longed for another baby was torture. I begged God to give Jackson his little brother or sister.

I had almost given up hope and then I found out I was pregnant! I pleaded with God to keep this baby alive. It was Jackson’s special baby – the sibling he had prayed for.

From the moment we told Jackson we were having a baby, he has been ecstatic about being a big brother. And when Olivia arrived, his joy only increased. He is bursting with pride and love for his little baby sister.

So when I saw these t-shirts from Cute as a Bug I knew Jackson would love them. He is all about being the “big brother!”

My little man would probably start wearing that shirt now, even though his brother isn’t scheduled to make his arrival until late March! :)

My blog host is down for maintenance, but I’ve marked this to post as soon as they’re back up!!

So cute. My son already has a “I’m the Big Brother” shirt so I would probably get a “I’m the Little Sister” shirt for my daughter.

Our stories are so similar…I lost a 7 week old baby earlier this year, and my 2 year old misses her sister so much. I’m now growing a baby brother for her, and she is SO excited.

This would be great for her (and him).

I love them, and we could really use them too. I have a 2 week old and two older ones who are loving the new arrival. Thanks!

Your post made me all misty-eyed! You see, I am the result of fervent prayer. My brother prayed and prayed for a little sister and God gave him me when he was 16! I would love these shirts–wish I could get them in adult sizes and I would get one for me and one for my brother!!

Thanks for the GREAT post and the wonderful prize. I really enjoy your blog and getting to know everyone involved.

I love the big/lil sister tees since number 2 will be here in a few weeks. I’d actually love a Peace & Love one for myself too. :) Thanks for the Crunchy Domestic Goddess blog link too.

I’m very sorry for the loss that you experienced. I am a bereaved mom too. I’m glad you had another chance with your newborn daughter.

Please enter me! When my youngest was born all 3 kids had the sibling tees but we haven’t done it since. Sometimes my oldest asks why he doesn’t have a big brother shirt anymore. This would be an exciting gift for them.
