Skinny Songs

SkinnySongs is not about dieting, and is not “workout music.” Instead, SkinnySongs is the first radio-hit-quality music specifically written to empower and inspire people to reach their weight and fitness goals. While some people listen to it while exercising or walking, others find it helps to listen to SkinnySongs even when driving or cooking —to get through rough days and strengthen their resolve to reach their goals.

When I was asked to review the SkinnySongs CD, I was a bit skeptical. However, I am trying to lose a few extra pounds to get swimsuit ready for an anniversary trip to the Caribbean that my husband and I are taking in May, so I am up to try anything.

My resolve to eat well fluctuates. I have a day or two where fruits and veggies taste really good, and I don’t even miss the ice cream (okay, I don’t miss it too much). It all comes down to motivation. Would I rather eat a lot of high-fat, high-calorie foods, or would I rather feel confident on the beachskinny.jpg?

SkinnySongs really did motivate me. Listening to the CD made me want to go workout (and working out does not come easy to me). The songs are a mix of a modern country, hip hop, and rock. It’s music that will put a smile on your face. You can hear nice long samples of the songs, right on their home page. You can buy a copy there, on amazon, or at itunes.

If you’d like to win one of two copies, leave a comment here. We’ll post the winners on March 14.

How do you get motivated to lose weight or get healthy?

I get motivated when I think of not being able to run around and play with my nieces and nephews. They are the world to me! Not being able to run around with them, makes me want to stay in shape!

If I keep up my exercise routine for a length of time, which I set in accordance to my reward, then I get whatever it is that I promised myself. It could be a yummy dessert, but more often it is a new top or a piece of jewelry, as long as it is something I want really bad.

Lost my motivation right now. Have moved weight bench into bedroom last week. Now that I’m talking about it , thats alittle motivation. When I talk about or read articles its a start. Can’t wait until summer, that’s my real motivation. I walk in the pool with a timer for 1 hour each day. Last year went down 4 sizes. Still have 50 pounds to lose. Motivation is in my pool. It’s just one of those blow up ring type pools, but it works.

I’m going to need a lot of motivation after this baby is born! Thank you.

Oh my! I would love this! I too, have days where I am doing well, but then I have days where back sliding is a little easy to do.

My kids motivate me. I want them to be healthy and they watch everything I do. So if I can teach them and myself (and hubby) the right way to eat, then hopefully they will come out alright in the end. 🙂

This is exactly what I need as I am trying to walk this weight off! For motivation, I wear a pedometer and try to get 10,000 steps per day. I am also part of an accountability group, where we report the average of our daily steps on a weekly basis.

I get motivated to lose weight when my clothes get a bit snug. It’s easier to lose 5 lbs than replace my clothes.
