If you’re a parent, I’m sure you’ve discovered Leap, Lilly and the rest of the Leap Frog family.
Now I know many of us try to limit TV time, but for those of us who give in and resort to a few moments of relief, these are the DVDs to have on hand.
Leap Frog = Genius!
Well, it may not make your child a genius if he is not already one, but it is genius in its ability to teach very effectively and still be one of my child’s favorite DVD series. I mean my son chooses these little frogs over Sponge Bob.
(I tried unsuccessfully to hide Sponge Bob, but with blanket media saturation, he inevitably discovered him.)
Jackson has loved the whole series since he was two, when a friend recommended them to me. After just a few weeks, he knew his entire alphabet from the Leap Frog Letter Factory and was starting to sound out simple words from the Leap Talking Words Factory.
This Christmas I got him Leap Frog Code Word Caper which teaches advanced phonics and Leap Frog Math Circus which introduces basic math.
They are all a huge hit with him and he gives them two (adorable) thumbs up.

I love all the Leap Frog toys! They are all made so well and my babies are learning even when they don’t realize it. Plus, the music is so catchy!

Thanks so much for your input!
I also purchased the L-Max for my son. (The newest form of the Leapster.) My nephews have the Leapster and they love them! My sister had to buy one for each of them because they both wanted to play them at the same time.

Our family also loves the Leap Frog series. Even though it wasn’t the mega hit that the Leap Frog Family hoped for, we also purchased the Leapster. It’s basically a bigger version of a Game Boy aimed at the educational crowd. However, once our son received a Game Boy as a present, the Leapster started collecting dust. Recently a neat thing happened. His Game Boy ran out of juice and he saw his trusty old Leapster sitting around and has been playing with it for about a week. The poor old Game Boy is second seat for at least a little while longer.
Another great helper for the Leap Frog Series or education in general are educational carpets that have letters and numbers printed on them. These types of carpets are excellent for circle time, preschools, and even for homes. Kids can jump around on the letters and numbers that the Leap Frog Family is teaching about, thereby adding another level of fun and education.
