– Or at least access to one.
I am not a geek. Although I spend a disproportionate amount of my life staring into my laptop, I possess none of the invaluable qualities and talents of a geek.
Since I depend on technology to live, work and play, I could be in big trouble. But the Lord in His infinite mercy and wisdom has provided me with a “geek and a half,” for which I am eternally grateful. In fact, it makes me queasy to imagine life without this tech support. I mean how do non-tech savvy people, stranded without any geeks to rescue them, exist? It frightens me.
In the womb, God gave me a built-in support system. And although she definitely has some bugs and could use some tweaking, she has been keeping me going for 32 years. Since I was not to become a geek, God allowed this identical twin of mine to acquire tech knowledge. She is the “half” I mentioned earlier. She is not a true geek, only a software developer with a lot of knowledge, but without the pure soul of a geek.
Again, the Lord sensing that our tech future would need even more support than Susan would be fit to provide, he allowed Susan to wed a true “geek”. This geek named Rob now provides our business and both of our families with unlimited and fantastic tech support. From setting up wireless networks, installing virus software, reformatting hard drives and anything else our machines require, Rob is there for us.
So, I live in the land of plenty. Between Susan and Rob my tech needs are met. Our business can grow and thrive and I can play unfettered in my online playground.
But I am a giver. I feel guilty sitting here all fat and happy while so many go without.
So I will share. If you have any tech questions, nightmares or problems, let us know and I will ensure my tech support answers you as quickly as possible.
It feels so good to share…
