Father’s Day is almost here… are you still looking for a gift for the Dads in your life? Is your husband or your own father tricky to shop for?
An easy and sure to please gift idea for dads is to book him a “weekend away”.
If he clocks in tons of hours at the office and misses the kids, perhaps you can book it for a family getaway. Or make it a gift for your relationship as well and make it a trip for two.
The bonus of giving this gift to your hubby, is that it can be a gift for you too… you can both enjoy the weekend trip together.
Many of us already have so many “things” filling up our houses, that giving “experience” gifts can be a great way to give a gift that fills our memories not our cluttered drawers.
You could book the trip for next weekend and take him away for Father’s Day or you could surprise him on Father’s Day with the date for your “weekend break” written in the card.
If you have small kids, it’s nice to spend the day as a family on Father’s Day, so you don’t need to have the trip actually booked for the Father’s Day weekend. Writing it in the card also gives the gift of anticipation… looking forward to a vacation is part of the joy.
Here are a few resorts ideas from Embassy Suites for trips you could gift to your husband or your own father…
Weekend Away Gift Ideas for All Types of Dads
Which type of man are you celebrating this Father’s Day?
- Golfing Dad
Embassy Suites Phoenix-Scottsdale: This beautiful hotel looks right out to the beautiful Stonecreek Golf Course and has all that Scottsdale has to offer just minutes away. Plus, the fact that every suite has a balcony means Dad can enjoy the weekend with beautiful views of Camelback Mountain or the golf course while unwinding. Additionally, with the hotel’s special golf packages, each registered guest receives one round of golf per day and a golf cart to get all the way to the 18th hole.
- Romantic Dad
Embassy Suites Los Angeles – Glendale: With views of the mountains and some of Glendale’s hottest restaurants within walking distance, this hotel is perfectly suited for the Dad who prefers to leave the kids at home and enjoy a staycation with his significant other. Special romance packages at this hotel include a bottle of champagne and chocolate-covered strawberries. Don’t feel like even leaving the hotel? No problem, the romance packages also includes a credit for lunch or dinner at Bistro 800 – a restaurant featuring contemporary American cuisine.
- Leisurely Beach-Going Dad
Embassy Suites Deerfield Beach – Resort & Spa: Located in the heart of South Florida – but away from the more congested areas of Fort Lauderdale and Miami – this 4-Diamond Hotel is located in the heart of the Gold Coast. Just steps from the tropical pool, Dad will be able to take a dip in the Atlantic or enjoy a spa treatment at Spa950. With the resort’s Leisure Escapes package – Dad will enjoy a special daily credit to unwind with a massage or enjoy dinner with an ocean view.
- History Buff Dad
Embassy Suites Washington, D.C. – at the Chevy Chase Pavilion: For those dads who are always on-the-go and just can’t sit still, this hotel provides the perfect balance of satisfying Dad while also entertaining the kids. Located just above the Friendship Heights metro station, the D.C. area’s top monuments and museums are just minutes away – including the Washington Monument, John F. Kennedy Center and the Newseum. The DC Explorer Pack includes all-day metro passes, DC Kids fun packs and discounted parking to ensure Dad’s staycation is as stress-free and easy as possible.
- Sports Fanatic Dad
Embassy Suites Walnut Creek: Love a good game? Conveniently located just minutes away from the heart of Oakland and San Francisco and next to the Pleasant Hill BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) Station, this hotel is perfect for heading to the game without worrying about driving or parking hassles. The GAME DAY package includes complimentary valet to help Dad put his hard earned money towards a little more fun during this special weekend. And with the Oakland A’s playing the Angels Father’s Day weekend, Dad is sure to unwind and enjoy himself.
Giving a gift of a weekend getaway trip or a “staycation” in a hotel in your own city is an awesome alternative to giving him more “stuff” for Father’s Day.
And all the better if you get to enjoy a weekend away too!
