Anna here with a FUN new app to keep your children entertained with amazing art. This post is sponsored, so thanks for reading, sharing and supporting our site.
Both my children have iPads courtesy of their grandparents. They can be both a curse and a blessing. Of course in this day and age children are exposed to so much technology. We as parents can use this to our advantage and use technology as a tool for good instead of just mindless brain-numbing entertainment.
I downloaded Spot, an app that is a visual adventure. What is so neat about this app is you travel through all these amazing spaces, each scene transitions into the next one using the Pinch-and-Zoom feature of your iPad. With each pinch and zoom you move through dazzling scenes, exploring worlds within worlds rendered in GORGEOUS original artwork by David Wiesner.
David Wiesner is one of the world’s most celebrated visual storytellers and an author/illustrator of award-winning children’s books. This app is his long time idea to life.
This is how the app is described on iTunes:
Ever wonder what’s living under your chair? Find the dust bunnies of Lower Rügg where they’re waiting to be characters in your story! Zoom into a scrap of newspaper next to the bunnies, keep zooming, zoom a little more… and voilà ! You’re transported through a puddle into the vast underwater world of Oceana Prime teeming with creatures. Pinch-and-zoom and slide side to side to uncover the mysteries of the deep. Pinch-and-zoom through glowing hotspots to be transported to four other inventive worlds filled with animals and aliens ready to be characters in your story.
This app is unlike any other app I have seen. My son was looking over my shoulder while I was playing around with it and he was so intrigued by it!
Take a look at this trailer, it really helps to explain how the app works and you get a sneak peek into some of the amazing scenes:
This app is available for $3.99 in the iTunes App Store. Find out more about Spot here…
