Acclaim -- by Earth Footwear

I first heard about Earth® Footwear on Twitter and on mom blogs. (Yes, social media buzz sure works!) I immediately wanted to try this innovative line of footwear:

Each and every pair of Earth® Footwear features a 3.7° incline that helps you strengthen and tone your body with your every step.

Not only was I hooked on the concept of burning more calories with every step, but their shoes and boots look fabulous!

So I was thrilled to test out a pair of boots this winter. Earth Footwear sent me a pair of Acclaim boots in black leather.

I opened the box last week and I have worn them every day since! In our Vancouver rain, the Acclaim boots are fabulous, keeping me dry and safe from slipping with the fantastic grip on the soles.

I even took them with me this weekend when my family and I went to Whistler, a local ski resort. They were perfect for our long walks through the cold, snowy village.

It is amazing to me that I could take a brand new pair of boots and not have any “breaking in” time. In five days. I have walked miles with no discomfort!

The calf is very roomy, so with my skinny cargos and jeans they are a bit loose. But the looser top allows me to wear my other jeans which wouldn’t fit in a tighter boot.

If you find that boots often fit tight for you in the calf, you will find the Acclaim will offer extra room. It is also slightly elasticized behind the adjustable buckle and in the calf, which makes it even more comfortable when walking.

acclaim-boot-earth-footwearThe only downside to these boots for me is the heel which is bit thicker than I would prefer. It makes the boot quite casual but if you are wearing them as an every day boot like I am, the heel is ok. (And I just saw a picture of Gwen Stefani wearing a very similar boot with almost the exact same thick sole and heel!)

If you want to enter to win a pair of Acclaim boots by Earth® Footwear, just leave a comment here. What are you looking for in a pair of boots. Is comfort your biggest concern?

This giveaway is open to US continental shipping addresses and closes on December 11th. This giveaway is void where prohibited. Please see our site’s terms and conditions for our complete contest rules.

Please Note: Earth Footwear provided a review sample and prizing. My opinions are always 100% my own!

I am always looking for a nice sturdy pair of boots that look good but will hold up to the wet British weather! I can never wear boots that are high like this because I have more ‘shapely’ calfs (as my Grandmother used to call my fat calfs! LOL!) but small feet! These look like they would be PERFECT! By the way I’m entering because I’m going to be at my Mom’s in PA from mid December till end of January – so I DO have a US shipping address next month! Hehehe! These would be perfect to wear during my trip.

Comfort and look are the two things I always look for in a pair of any shoes. And it’s actually harder to find than it seems. It’s easy to find comfortable shoes that look like they belong on an orthopoedic shelf or good looking shoes that you can’t wear for longer than ten minutes. So when I find shoes that are both comfortable and nice looking, then I’m happy.

  3. Mandy says

I don’t own a pair of boots at all and with Illinois weather rapidly changing, it would be great to have at least one pair. Plus, they are so cute!!!! The claim that they burn more calories is a plus if it is true but hopefully they aren’t heavy :(

  4. says

Since Since becoming a mother, comfort is my number 1 priority when it comes to shoes! Although, I still like my shoes to look stylish…and be comfortable! :)

  5. says

I want a boot that will fit my mongo sized calves! I have the biggest calves and can’t get boots to fit them so then they flop around on my feet and are uncomfortable.

  6. says

    Wow! These are beautiful!
We are getting ready to move back North ( I know.. crazy right?), but I would Sooo love to have these boots for the winter time.
    Love it!

I just went boot shopping this weekend and the choices were overwhelming to say the least. I love these boots and think they would be great for everyday wear.

  8. says

those boots are AWESOME!!! I would love to say that comfort is the most important thing, but as long as they are cute – I’ll take them! Comfort is a bonus feature :)

  9. says

I am very picky when it comes to boots, I want something practical but good looking at the same time.
I want something that I can walk in and it doesn’t matter if they get a little wet or dirty.

  10. Melissa P. says

I need a good pair of boots that will not only be comfortable but that will keep my feet dry and warm. I am so in need of a pair.

  15. says

OH! I am on the hunt for a great pair of comfy every day high boots. I only wear skirts and dresses now and I’m cold! I need something for daily style and comfort! Hope I win. Thanks for the chance!

  16. says

In all footwear, I look for durability and style. In the Pacific NorthWET, shoes have to hold up to some challenging weather six months out of the year, and I want my shoes to last (especially if they are favorites). But of course, I want them to look snazzy with skirts to skinny jeans!

  17. says

Comfort is really important because I have wide, rather messed up feet. But I don’t want to look like a troll either. I want them to look super cute! And these boots are SOOOOOOOOO appealing to me. Please please please???????

  18. says

`I have a very hard time finding boots that I like. I am very particular with the look and the feel of the boots, I don’t want them to be heavy and bulky. I want them to be soft and easy to break in., I want style and with earthfootwear, I love the thought of being able to exercise while wearing them. Since I have been introduced to earthfootwear earlier this year through “Bookieboo” twitter party, I love them. I have 3 pairs of sandals. and one pair of worn out tennis shoes. Now I need a pair of compfy boots to go with them. Thanks

  19. says

I’ve had surgery & a metal plate inserted in my left ankle, and also had surgery on my right knee. It’s so difficult to find boots that fit both left & right! These look comfy and adjustable…I need these boots!

  20. Elaine Kontra says

I look for 4 things in a boot- comfort, arch support, how they fit, and style in that order. First they have to be comfortable so I can go all day w/o wanting to take them off, then I need arch support which goes right along with comfort b/c then if my feet hurt they aren’t comfortable, next how they fit is important b/c I have tried on boots that feel great but are real loose in the ankle and then look funny when being worn. Finally style I would love a pair of boots that look good over or under a pair of jeans. I believe I am picky but a pair of boots should last me a long time and so they need to be perfect for me. Love these boots in black!

  21. Michelle says

I look for comfort and style. I LOVE Earth shoes! They have really helped me with my back pain too and tell everyone they should get a pair.

  22. jackie says

  23. mary e. williams says

  24. Jaimie K says

You know, actually… I’ve never owned a pair of boots, so I don’t know what I’d want! These look like they’d be a good pair to start out with!

  25. says

I live in MN and we have slushy wet weather 6-7 months out of the year. I look for warm, style, and comfort. Something I can easily slip on to chase the dog or my twin 5 year old boys. Sounds like the Acclaim gas it all! LOVE!

  26. says

I look for boots that are comfy to wear for hours on end! I have a pair of Brown Earth boots that I live in… Now I just need a black pair! :-)

I have been looking for new boots for this winter! I would love some comfortable boots that also have some hidden benefits!

  28. MommaBear says

Comfort is indeed #1 ! Cuteness comes second, and these seem to do both very well! Love my Earth shoes, but have not tried their boots, and would love to !! Thank you!! :-)

  29. AutumH says

Comfort is totally a priority, but warmth and weatherproofing are big ones too! Plus I love the idea of boots I can just slip on whenever — running errands, walking my daughter to the bus etc. Cool contest!!

  32. pamela says

i’m looking for my SIZE in a nice boot that doesn’t have pointy toes :-/ pointyness makes size 10.5 feet look gigantic…. as if they’re not big enough already right? also, to me, comfort=no heels. i can’t stand heels.. i need something that’s gonna function as well as look super awesome. they look like they’re comfy! would loooooove to win these! totally sweet! i never buy myself anything, it’s all for the kiddos, so this would be a really sweet win!
    ecodelight(at)gmail(dot)com

  33. says

I definitely look for comfort as well as style. They go hand in hand. I won’t wear a stylish boot unless its comfy (hey, it’ll never get worn). But then, I don’t want to wear ugly boots just because they are comfy (that would be Uggs for me…I know others find them stylish…I disagree…oops, maybe I shouldn’t be saying that). Thanks!

  34. Donna Niell says

These boots would complete my Earth shoe transition. Every other pair of shoes are Earth and even though they are over 10 years old I’m not replacing them with anything but Earth boots.

  35. says

I would love to win a pair of these boots! Comfort isn’t just a concern, it is a requirement. I recently wore a tall pair of boots that I found in my closet. They were awful. My feet hurt so bad, I immediately stopped wearing them. I need some boots. I like the chunky heel of these!

  36. says

I’ve been looking for cute boots that I can wear in all of this Seattle rain (and snow this past weekend!). These are so stylish….Thanks for the giveaway!

  37. Trish says

Fit is usually an issue for me and that blends right into the comfort of the boot. I love earth shoes and if these boots are anything like the comfort of the causal Earth shoes I already own they will get a thumbs up and be such a blessing.

  38. Christine says

Those Acclaim boots are gorgeous!!! I love the way they look, I want to tone as I go, and look good doing it.
    Thanks for the chance!

  39. Lylene says

Comfort first!- definitely. I like a boot to be sturdy, to hit high enough on the calf that my jeans aren’t constantly escaping, and waterproof. Good amount of tread on the bottom- why are so many boots slick on the sole? It’s treacherous!!! Breathability is also really nice and hard to find in a boot. Style is important too- of course, but if they look good but lack everywhere else it is just not worth it for me.

  40. says

Comfort is definitely important, but I also look for durability. There is nothing worse than buying boots for the winter, only to have them fall apart before the season is over!

  41. Angela says

Oh and comfort is definitely the most important… so Earth shoes are a perfect solution. Comfort and style all in one!

  42. says

Comfort is really my top priority. I typically wear Crocs all year long and yes, I live in a very snowy area. I only wear my “clunky” boots if the snow hasn’t been plowed/shoveled yet. Other than that I wear my winter crocs. 😉 These boots look FABULOUS though. I like that they can be worn with regular jeans as well.

  43. N.Rose says

I am a single mom with very limited income and have a child with special needs …..so the last thing I do is every buy anything for myself ESPECIALLY the necessities…
Live in a very rural area which gets snow most of the year….so its hard for me to get around for my child’s therapies….sneakers can be treacherous in ice…. so it would mean alot to me for this opportunity ….thank you…

  44. says

i look for comfort and style in boots. i also have thick calves so it’s hard to find boots that will fit over them :o/ i’d love to win these cos i know they’d help with all those things :o)

  45. says

These would be so nice in the MN winter! I gave my daughter my boots since she has to do so much walking at college. Thanks for the chance to win.

  46. Melanie says

Comfort is the biggest consideration for me. Style is important too, but you are only going to look so good if you feel miserable. Looks like these offer both comfort and style. Would love to try them.

  47. Melanie says

Comfort is the biggest consideration for me. Style is important too, but you are only going to look so good if you feel miserable. Looks like these offer both comfort and style.

  48. says

My husband is the only person working in household, with three kids, it’s hard to budget the income. We are saving every little penny for the kids for their education when they start to go to school. So, when, I want to buy something, I always put my kids first on my priority. i got cheap boots but, it’s killing my feet. I wanted to buy at least a decent boots but, I just can’t with our budget.

  49. Margo says

Earth shoes really help my feet, which are prone to getting sore and over tired in other shoes and boots. So I would love to have a comfortable pair of Earth Acclaim boots for winter.

  50. Susan P. says

This looks like my kind of boot – more room in the calf and casual. I like a boot/shoe that I can wear a long time and not have to worry about my feet hurting.

  51. Mary says

I am looking for a boot that looks nice and is comfortable, too! These Acclaim Boots would fit the bill for me! Love the fact that they tone the body, also, and have a lot of stretch hidden in many places. My calfs would appreciate this! Thanks for the chance!

  56. says

These are FABULOUS!! I look for comfort first, then style when picking out a pair of boots. They have to be comfortable because I wear them forever- I have had my current pair of boots for over 5 years. It’s time for a new pair!! :-)

    Thanks for the great giveaway!!

  57. Amanda says

My criteria for boots are, they must be stylish yet still practical. Some of the most trendy boots have 4 inch heels…not practical to wear everyday especially if you are already almost 6 feet tall.

  58. says

I actually want to win a pair for my mom, who dedicates her time to helping others. She rides trail patrol for her neighborhood, volunteers to keep her street clean and helps run the Challenged Children’s Rodeo here in Norco, CA. She is on her feet (or her horse) all day long and needs a pair of boots that will be comfortable! It would be so awesome to give these to her for Christmas!

  59. Linda Kish says

Width in the toebox is important. So, fit, I guess. But it also has to be low-heeled and very comfortable. And, of course, look good, too.

  60. Amanda says

I would love to win these because not only do they look amazing but they are like “shoes with a purpose!” Thank you for the opportunity!

  61. says

I am looking for a boot that will keep out the water, and still keep a grip on whatever surface I walk. I also have a little trouble wearing alot of boots because they are a little snug in the calf area, so from what you say about these, they will probably fit me perfectly. I would be very happy to win these!

  62. says

Comfort is definitely a big concern, if your feet hurt you just don’t get as much done! I’ve heard of this 3.7 degree incline… how does it make you feel?

  63. CMC says

I am looking for a pair of boots that can be stylish AND comfortable at the same time. I know the Acclaim boots can do just that!

These boots are great looking, and are sure to be comfy. Each week I take my child care children on walking field trips. These would be great to have, and I will look great in them. The little girls are crazy for boots and will be envious of me. The design of these boots will certainly help my leg and feet aches since I stand a lot of the time. Thanks for the chance to make my life easier and healthier.

  73. Holly C. says

I love boots! When I buy boots I look for quality first then comfort. I have that the price is not always an indicater wheather it is a quallity item. I found many shoes and boots that were made really well with a low price tag. and of course there are those that cost a small fortune and fall apart after one season.

  74. says

Wow, I love those; right up my alley. I just threw away my old cheap pair because they were peeling on the toes (fake leather but they worked.) Oh, and comfort ALWAYS has alot to do with a shoe purchase for me. Yes, style matters, but what’s the point if they are not comfortable. I think it is silly to be in discomfort in order to “look good,” but that’s just me.

  75. Lisa says

Comfort first, then style. I must say that I dislike wintertime more each year, but if there is one thing i do look forward to, it’s wearing great boots!

  78. Eileen says

I would love to own a pair of these boots. I fell 3 years ago, and I still walk funny. My knee gives out on me at any given time. I remember back in the day I would buy moon shoes, I loved them, but they stopped selling them. Are these the same shoes with a different name?

I went looking for some on black friday and the CSR was convinced I would have no problem fitting into high boots, she even told me, “The other day this woman came in with HUGE calves and had no problem zipping these up.” Well, apparently mine are a bit HUGER, cause they didn’t even zip up at all. The ones you are giving away are very nice-looking, and I know they’ll be comfortable.

I’ve been shopping around for my first pair of low-heeled boots and I think versatility is my first concern…I have two pairs of high heeled boots and just get tired of wearing heels, though they even look great with jeans. Plus, I have super muscular calves, so am glad to hear that these are roomy.

I live in the snowbelt of NE Ohio so am in need of a pair of boots that can keep my feet ward and dry, look stylish and be comfortable. That seems to be asking a lot since I have yet to find a pair i really like in the 9 years i have been here!

  104. c y says

Yes, comfort is. I have arthritis all over, especially my feet, so I have a hard time finding shoes that work for me. These look great because they do not have heels and any wierd angles which that would bend my foot.

I should say comfort, right? But I really care about how the boots look, and honestly, I’d endure a little toe-pinching for a really cute pair of boots. 😛 These boots look awesome though. Stylish and comfortable. The whole kit and kaboodle!

It depends on why I’m buying the boots. If it’s for warmth, I’m looking for actual warmth. If it’s for fashion, I go for a look and a bit of comfort. If I can find ‘the look’ and great comfort, I’m a happy girl.
