Libby’s Is Thanking You With A Giveaway

Written by Erica

Libbys_ad_3-1

This time of year such an emphasis is placed on giving back and spreading holiday cheer. There are many ways in which we can help others during the holidays. One easy way is to take part in the Virtual Canned Food Drive hosted by Libby’s Vegetables and Feeding America.

What Is The Libby’s Virtual Canned Food Drive?

The Libby’s Virtual Canned Food Drive is a fun and effective way to support Feeding America in the fight against hunger. Libby’s Vegetables will match your gift, dollar for dollar, up to $30,000. To thank you for your support, Libby’s is also offering a money-saving coupon to everyone who donates!

It doesn’t take much to make a difference either. Every $1 donated to Feeding America provides 9 pounds of food for families in need! $5.00 provides 35 meals. A little bit can really go a long way.

How You Can Help

There are several ways in which you can help. You can start your own canned food drive, support a friend or loved one by donating to their food drive or give to the cause by making a general monetary donation.

Thanking You With A Giveaway

Libby’s would like to thank you for taking the time to read a bit about their virtual canned food drive, by giving two of you a Breville Slow Cooker With Easy Sear, retail value $179.99, as well as a variety of Libby’s Vegetables.

breville-1

It’s one-Pot Cooking with the EasySear™ Stovetop Insert. Sear, Sauté and brown ingredients on the stovetop in the EasySear™ Insert, then transfer into the slow cooker to deepen flavors, finally lift out to serve banquet-style directly on the table.

  5. Link to this giveaway via Twitter, etc.
  6. You can then leave one additional comment for each social media site you use to spread the word.

  7. Make a donation
  8. If you make a general donation or give to your own canned food drive or one your friend or loved one is running, you can leave an additional comment.

Thank you so much for taking the time to help others. Let’s bring hungry families back to the table.

I have also personally adopted a family through my church for Christmas and we will be having them over for a home cooked meal and gifts on Christmas day.

I’ve wanted a slow cooker for awhile now, but never broke down and bought one. We donate to local food pantries all the time. One of our local grocery stores even runs specials on canned food a certain times of the year to make it easier to buy and donate.

Deb Anderson @ 6:09 pm

Hungry families need food year round, but the holidays put extra stress on already financially strapped families. A food drive during the holidays is just one way to help the needy and for the more fortunate among us to share the abundance. There are already several food drive initiatives in my community and I participate whenever I can.

lovelife @ 12:28 am

Hunger is a serious threat as this economy continues to struggle. Food drives need to be more common place as more and more families will need supplemental sources to meet their needs. Thank you for recognizing such a need. We can all do our part to help those around us!

Very hot item and very cool contest.

Jay F. @ 12:52 am

I recently worked at our church’s annual food drive, and I must say that the generosity of my neighbors really is a delightful surprise. There were lots of cans and boxes of food donated, enough to keep more than 100 volunteers crazy-busy for about 3 hours. It seemed there were more donations than last year.

sylvia morales @ 12:52 am

Jennifer Jozwiak @ 8:49 am

Such a great slow cooker, i really hope i win! I always give canned goods on food drives and donate to my local food bank. You never know when you’ll be the family needing help.

Deborah R @ 9:06 am

I think Feeding America is a first class organization and I do support them…but their closest distribution site in my area is 2.5 hours away by car. Hungry people don’t have the gas money or time to drive a total of 5 hours to a food bank, so I contribute the bulk of my support to the small food banks that are operated by local churches here in my town and county. Knowing that Libby’s is supporting a good cause, I’ll be sure to look for Libby’s products when I shop for myself and for donations to the food banks.

Nicole D. @ 9:48 am

I do appreciate the fact that you’ve taken on the initiative to make people more aware of the need of food drives and food pantries at this time in our country. We’ve tried to do our part by donating to our local food bank, participating in our local supermarket where if you buy a “store brand” item, they donate another to the food bank, and we also have made a point (not in the food category) of participating in Toys For Tots. Thanks for doing your part.
As for this prize, it would be greatly appreciated if I could win for my daughter who participates in a food co-op with other families where they all take turns cooking for each other’s families on rotating evenings. As they say….” It takes a village”, and in this case, we’ve all got to help each other out.

Heather @ 4:01 pm
