It doesn’t take much to make a difference either. Every $1 donated to Feeding America provides 9 pounds of food for families in need! $5.00 provides 35 meals. A little bit can really go a long way.

How You Can Help

There are several ways in which you can help. You can start your own canned food drive, support a friend or loved one by donating to their food drive or give to the cause by making a general monetary donation.

I do appreciate the fact that you’ve taken on the initiative to make people more aware of the need of food drives and food pantries at this time in our country. We’ve tried to do our part by donating to our local food bank, participating in our local supermarket where if you buy a “store brand” item, they donate another to the food bank, and we also have made a point (not in the food category) of participating in Toys For Tots. Thanks for doing your part.
As for this prize, it would be greatly appreciated if I could win for my daughter who participates in a food co-op with other families where they all take turns cooking for each other’s families on rotating evenings. As they say….” It takes a village”, and in this case, we’ve all got to help each other out.

I think Feeding America is a first class organization and I do support them…but their closest distribution site in my area is 2.5 hours away by car. Hungry people don’t have the gas money or time to drive a total of 5 hours to a food bank, so I contribute the bulk of my support to the small food banks that are operated by local churches here in my town and county. Knowing that Libby’s is supporting a good cause, I’ll be sure to look for Libby’s products when I shop for myself and for donations to the food banks.

I recently worked at our church’s annual food drive, and I must say that the generosity of my neighbors really is a delightful surprise. There were lots of cans and boxes of food donated, enough to keep more than 100 volunteers crazy-busy for about 3 hours. It seemed there were more donations than last year.

What a great cause and a great giveaway!

A few of the grocery stores I frequent always have a container or box where you can donate food, some even have a container to donate food to animal shelters. I try and do what I can year round when I see a great deal or have a great coupon and buy an extra can or two of soup, veggies, box of pasta or cereal to drop in the boxes.

Hungry families need food year round, but the holidays put extra stress on already financially strapped families. A food drive during the holidays is just one way to help the needy and for the more fortunate among us to share the abundance. There are already several food drive initiatives in my community and I participate whenever I can.

I’ve wanted a slow cooker for awhile now, but never broke down and bought one. We donate to local food pantries all the time. One of our local grocery stores even runs specials on canned food a certain times of the year to make it easier to buy and donate.

I love canned food drives. I just wish we could be in the “spirit” of donating all year long!

there is never a bad time to have a food drive! Sometimes Ii think food banks ‘survive’ only because of these holiday drives… but people are hungry year-round too 😉

Fabulous prize and just want I need. More importantly spreading the word on food drives is so important all the time and especially around the holidays. We just started one at my work and have had such a great response!
