5 Minutes for Mom helped get Anissa on OPRAH!

Written by Janice

Last month, a producer from The Oprah Winfrey Show contacted us to help them find guests for an upcoming show.

Remember when we were looking for overwhelmed moms, but we couldn’t mention online for which national talk show? Yup - it was Oprah!

We had a fantastic time working with two of the Oprah staffers. They were great fun — and loved what we are doing here at 5 Minutes for Mom!

But, the best part is the producers selected one of our faithful readers, Anissa, who blogs about her daughter Peyton’s battle with cancer, to be on the show!

The episode, which airs today, is a heartbreaking one though. So keep your Kleenex nearby.

It features the tragic story of a mom who forgot her daughter was asleep in her car seat when she went in to work. It took a year for this grieving mother to come forward and share her story.

Anissa let us know that her part on the show is very short - so keep tuned or you might miss her. ;)

Anissa’s experience working with everyone from the show was wonderful and she is honored to be able to be a part of such an important episode.

To see a teaser for the episode, visit Oprah.com. Or just tune in today.

And keep your eyes on our RSS feed — you never know, we might get you on Oprah next! :)

Janice,

I would never have called the Oprah show if not for your site. Thanks so much for sharing the opportunity that ended up with me getting my 42 seconds of fame! ;)

You all keep raising up Moms and the Moms will keep coming to support you in all you do.

Ooh, I’m so glad I read this before I deleted that show from TIVO. I will definitely go watch for Anissa. She’s one courageous mama.
