Win an Oreck XL Gold – In Pink!

When October hits, the first colors I see are no longer just the orange hues decorating the trees, or even the bright Halloween garb lining the store shelves.

No – for me October is now PINK.

Thanks to all the companies coloring their products pink and donating to find a cure for Breast Cancer, October and pink now go hand in hand.

This year we are thrilled to bring you a giveaway for the Special Edition Oreck XL® Gold Vacuum cleaner.

Community involvement and giving back is important to the Oreck Corporation. That’s why Oreck is donating $25 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure® for every risk-free trial of the Special Edition Oreck XL® Gold Vacuum cleaner. Oreck’s Clean for the Cure® campaign has donated more than $1,000,000 to Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.

Now is your chance to win this Special Edition vacuum cleaner (retail value, $599.95).

The brand-new Oreck XL Gold makes cleaning a breeze – the vacuum weighs just 9 lbs. and lays flat to fit under beds and furniture. A 5 year warranty and 5 free annual tunes will keep it running strong.

    Key benefits:

  • Dust Less Often.
The Oreck XL Gold’s built-in filtration system traps 99.9% of all dust and allergens down to .3 microns. The dust on the floor doesn’t blow back into the air and end up on your furniture. So you could dust less often.
  • Furniture-Friendly Design.
Its low profile, soft top-and-sides, and bright halogen light make it easy to clean around and under furniture without scratching it. Side brushes make cleaning baseboards and edges easier too.
  • Extend the life of your carpets & rugs.
The direct suction and roller brush rotating at over 5,500 revolutions per minute draw dirt right into the bag. The brush grooms the nap as it cleans, extending the life of your expensive flooring.
  • Fast. Simple. Sanitary.
Unlike bagless vacuums, the Saniseal® system automatically seals shut, locking the dirt in the disposable filter bag. Changing bags is effortless, odorless and clean. And one Oreck bag can hold as much as four bagless dust cups

I think it is fantastic that just through our shopping choices, we can help find a cure for Breast Cancer.

Just last week, Susan and I lost our dear neighbor, Sharon, to cancer. (Sharon was also our church’s former pastor’s wife and truly one of the nicest, most selfless people I have ever imagined, let alone known.)

She was only fifty one. Her children, just entering their twenties, now won’t have their mother to cry at their weddings or cradle their babies.

So, color this month pink!

If you need to buy a vacuum, (or you just want a new vacuum!) – visit Clean for the Cure to get more information about Oreck’s involvement in this oh-so-important cause.

If you would like to win an Oreck XL® Gold Vacuum cleaner, please leave a comment below. We will draw a winner on October 25th. This contest is only open to shipping addresses within the continental US.

Thanks Oreck!!!

A good vacuum is a must to keep up with good housekeeping. I just told my husband the other day that I would vacuum more if I had a new vacuum. He even says to me sometime, “Does the vacuum work?” lol Yes. Do I use it often? No.
    :-)
What else do we have to do to try to win the pink Oreck?
If I don’t win it then it’s going on my X-mas list!

We had the one year anniversary of my grandmother’s death from an undiagnosed form of metastatic cancer that we believe resulted from her breast cancer. I am a sonographer and a proud supporter for any breast cancer cause. If I could afford to BUY that vacuum cleaner, I definitely would. Thanks for your involvement in a great cause!!!

  17. says

With 2 kids and one cat, this would definitely be a welcome gift!

October 26th is the 3rd anniversary of the passing of my best friend’s mom due to breast cancer. I cheer on any and all support in finding a cure for this disease!

  20. says

Ohhh… What a great giveaway and a great way to keep the cause of finding a cure for Breast Cancer alive. We NEED a vacuum in the worst way. We actually don’t have one at all right now… we just recently moved (happened to be across the street from my mom) and we haven’t had the chance to purchase one yet. It’s getting REALLY old running my mom’s vacuum back and forth between our two houses!!

    Thanks for this great giveaway!!

  21. says

Wow, what a great thing for Oreck to do. We love our Oreck vacuum, but are due for a newer model for sure. I would love to be sporting this one in our house.

  27. Pam says

What a great cause! There is nothing that I could use more right now than a new vacuum cleaner. Especially a great one, like an Oreck!

  28. says

It is so great and amazing that so many companies are getting involved with breast cancer research and awareness! Breast cancer is devistating and effects so many people we love. My husband’s aunt had and fought breast cancer. I have so much respect for her and all the other women that have to go through that undescribable pain. They fight so strong to beat it and are still able to keep their will power up and their spirits higher than imaginable. I would love to win a new Oreck vac, but what I would love so much more than that is for more and more companies and people to become involved in, and in support of, breast cancer research and awareness. If we can find a cure, we would all win!

  29. says

SO sorry to hear about the loss of your neighbor. It’s nice to see that Oreck is giving so much for Breast Cancer research!!

  30. says

WOW this is a great cause. my “second” mother had breast cancer and is a survivor of over 10 years! I do hope we can find a cure some day! And of a mother of three boys, 10 and twin 8 year old a new vac is always needed! Good luck everyone!

  31. says

I would love to have a nice new vacuum. It would make my life so much easier to have one I could store under a bed or some place where my children won’t try to play with it! Between 3 kids, a cat, an 80 lbs puppy, and a husband a good vacuum is a must! Count me in.. and I hope I win

  32. says

I try to think pink when it comes to buying stuff all year long, but in October the availability is so much better when everyone joins in to support the cause.

  33. says

My grandma’s always telling me how great Orecks are, though she doesn’t own one. Maybe I would give this one to her if I won!
    Thanks!

  72. says

First and foremost …. gals, I love your site. I love the people I connect with through it and the information I find. As for the vacuum, like every other contest – it would be a huge bonus. With three kids 3 and under, we can use all the help we can get getting our house dust-free and clean. :)

PS: Love this slogan I’ve seen on some bumper stickers – “save the ta-tas!”

  73. Meredith Barbour says

First of all my oldest daughter-45-had rectal cancer last year. After the operation and 3 additional hospital visits it was found out that her recurperation, which was longer, was caused by a piece of gauze that had “fallen in” a hole that was made in her buttocks. She had a horrible time making anyone at the hospital believe her, because they said it would show up in the ct scans-just goes to show they don’t know everything. It was when she mentioned it to the person who was in charge of giving her “hyper barrick” treatments–put in a full size coffin like contraption and oxygen is put in, that this person got on the ball and the problem was taken care of. She in the mean time, lost her job, credit and god knows what all because a hospital and the doctors made a mistake–is she suing, as far as I know, you bet.
Now as far as the contest goes, 4 yrs. ago I purchased a Dyson, thinking at my age 63 at the time it would be the last vaccum I bought. I loved it so much I even wrote the company–ha ha the jokes on me, it is wearing out and I certainly would like to win this new vaccum, not only to see if all these years of watching the ads I should have gotten one years ago–I noticed before she dies my mother-in-law had 2 of them, but I never tried them out.
    Hope I have a chance.
    Sincerely, Meredith

Saw this competition and couldn’t lose the opportunity. I have had cancer twice, cervical and colon and both of them were caught early and surgically cured and so I have made it my mission not to miss the opportunity to tell people that their first line of defense against cancer is themselves. Because I religiously had my pap smears and fecal smears my cancers were caught early when they were ammenable to surgical intervention. Never, never, never miss a scheduled breast self exam or yearly mammagram, a yearly pap smear, a yearly fecal smear, a yearly testicular self exam (if you have sons remind them and if they don’t know how have them ask their school’s sports coaches or their doctor-this type of cancer if especially prevalent in young men. Finally never ignore any unusual symptom even if it doesn’t seem too bad to you. There are cancers which are not ammenable to screening and as I said you are the first line of defense against these. Even now I still have pap smears because although I no longer have a cervex vaginal cancer is a possibility. Cancer is sneaky and don’t let it catch you unawares.

    Great contest!
    Good lucky everyone!

  252. Jessica B says

Wow, I could so use a vacuum! Mine is horrible, but they are so expensive and we can’t afford a new one right now- And an Oreck- love them! Thanks for this opportunity!

  253. Pamela Warren says

I really do need a new vacuum cleaner. Oreck rocks! Please enter me in your contest.

  254. Lori Walker says

We’ve never had a vaccuum that could handle our two dogs’ hair! This would be amazing!

  255. says

I would love a new vacuum, Ours makes this horrible smell, We really need to get a new one, Ive just been waiting till we have enough money. To win this, would be fantastic!!

  256. Melanie Billings says

I’d LOVE to win this. It would be the perfect way to combat all the dog and cat hair that accumulates around here. I have enough to make a new dog and cat by the end of each day, I think!

  257. joan rojas says

My vacuum has seen better days, I would love this, I might actually enjoy vacuuming…hahaha

  258. Christy Goodwin says

What an amazing vacuum! I really want this so I can follow my four kids and 2 doggies around.

  259. Ret says

I must have the messiest family in the country because no matter what vaccuum I buy, it doesn’t pick up all the dirt they track in. I believe Oreck will!

  260. Amanda says

I sure could use a new vacuum the one I have is so old and so heavy. Oreck makes great Vacuums

  261. OlyveOyl says

This would not only cure the problem with dust bunnies – but it would be a constant reminder (as I need to vacuum often) the the needed awareness of breast cancer.

  262. Sherry says

This is really an awesome prize. Kudos to Oreck for supporting such a worthwhile cause. Sadly my father passed away in June. He hurt his back in Dec last year and for the next few months I had to take him for x-rays. At Christmas time I didn’t think too much of the Tree in the waiting room with white and pink bows. In April I was curious though and got a closer look, the bows had names on them. I asked about it and found that the pink bows represented breast cancer survivors and the white ones were ladies that didn’t make it. After that on each trip I read more names. It’s shocking. God bless all who have been touched by this disease.

  263. David A. Gregory says

The ORECK is a great vacuum.
And this is a nice color for a good cause.
If I win this pink ORECK, it will always be out for visitors to see! No closet for this vacuum.
My wife and I would both be doing the vacuumming, as usual.

  264. Catherine copeland says

  266. joseph fischer says

Thanks, my Mom would absolutely LOVE this vaccuum. And maybe even if I helped her out with the chores from time to time.

  267. Stacie Paulk says

This would be a god send to our household of 6 cats, 3 dogs, a todder and a husband who refuses to take his shoes off at the door. There is pet hair, dirt, sand and crumbs everwhere! Would love to retire my old hand me down Hoover for an Oreck XL.

  268. Sonya says

I passed on my Oreck awhile back because I THOUGHT I found a better vacuum and now I want it back!

  269. Mitchell H says

  272. Beth says

Ya know..if ya gotta vacuum, it might as well be with a PINK machine! I have three 2-year olds and boy can they make some messes on the carpet!

By the way, I am really grateful that there’s so much more light being shed these days on breast cancer awareness. I’m 44 and remember very well my own mother being hospitalized for cancer before I even started school.

And thanks for the contest, too!!

    beth

  273. Larry says

My Mom would LOVE this, especially with the great air filtering and hurricane strength vacuuming power! Hope I win so I can give it to her!

  274. Sue E says

Thanks for the chance to win this vacuum. Living in the country and having light colored carpet does not mix! Kudos to Oreck for supporting breast cancer awareness!

  275. Karen A. says

I’m so sorry to hear about your neighbor. It’s hard losing a friend or relative to cancer. I know as I’ve lost a few myself. I still have all the great memories of those people though.

I almost feel bad about asking to enter the vacuum sweeps, but I do need a new one as mine is about ready to bite the dust…no pun intended.

  276. Lisa Posner says

I’ve heard such good things about Orecks! This would be wonderful to have for our first home, which we’ll be moving into in a few weeks!

  277. says

OMg…I have FIVE dogs in the house, PLUS a kid. I need another vacuum! (just to prove the dog issue, here’s my dog website http://www.dandldoodles.com) Seriously, I just bought a shark steam mop today for my hard floors and it was a JOKE! Please, pick me for something I can honestly use!

  278. says

I have always wanted to try an Oreck on our carpet! I have heard so many great things about them, and I have a feeling that it could actually get our shag carpet clean. And who doesn’t love pink? :) Thanks for the chance!

  279. Ericka says

Awesome give away, awesome cause :)
With two doggies and three boys, vacuums are desperately needed :)
    Thanks for the chance!

  280. says

Oh yes! Who wouldn’t want a pink vacuum. I would decorate my entire house in pink if I could, but I live with only boys. But a pink vacuum would brighten my day!
    Thanks!
    Paige

  281. says

Oh, and the most important thing that I didn’t put in my first comment was that my mom has been battling cancer for three years and just last month got a clean bill of health! We support cancer awareness and research!

When I was in college, I had an Oreck and I really liked it. I left home and had to leave it behind. :D

I am 32yrs old, a mother of four, AND a 2 year cancer survivor – this month!

I had a goal the beginning of this year to participate in my first 5k this year. Well, just the past Sat. Oct. 11th I was a 5K participant in the Susan Komen Race for the Cure in Knoxville, TN. It was an amazing experience. One I am blessed and thankful to have been a part of.

Practically speaking, we do have need of a new vac and this would be a very special contest to win being a cancer survivor, wife, mother – Vac would kind of become another “walk of celebration” :D

    Thank you.

  283. says

Enter me too! I love the Oreck vacuums. I’ve never owned one but I’ve borrowed a few and been really happy with the performance and weight. I can’t believe they are such light vacuums!

  284. says

I would love to win this cute pink vac!!!
I love that more & more companies are getting involved in raising money & awareness.
cancer of any type is an awful thing for anyone to endure, I lost a husband to cancer 4 years ago.

  285. says

Okay, so I may not be the sharpest tool in the shed because I first bought a navy blue rug then proceeded to get a golden retriever puppy. Needless to say, by 5 pm each day, if I don’t vacuum, my rug looks more like a 70’s shag carpet. Using the Oreck XL Gold vacuum with its built-in filtration system would make this daily routine so much more satisfying.

  286. says

Oh, it’s even PINK! I am in desperate need of a new vacuum. After 15 years, three boys and a life on a farm, mine just gave up–can you imagine? :-)

    Thanks for this great contest.

    Amy

  287. says

    Yes please!!!
We need a GOOD vacuum. Our Eureka just isn’t cutting it, or sucking well I should say.

    Thanks for the opportunity!

  288. says

with 5 kids, a dog and a gusband who owns a landscaping buisness (ie…grass everywhere) I would be blessed to own a vaccum cleaner that works well! Esp with my new carpet!!!

  289. Melissa Shough says

How wonderful! My vacuum cleaner is on the fritz and this would be great to have!! With a 5 year old at home, he sure knows how to keep the house messy with stringing crumbs all over! Please enter me in the contest!

Please accept my sympathy for your dear friend. I will keep her family and friends in my prayers. God Bless!

  290. says

Wow, this would be such a big blessing to our family! Our 2 daughters and me are quite allergic to dust. I have what I thought was a good vacuum but it isn’t that old and already blows dust and debrea out of it (giving me more to clean up). The doctor said I needed to keep our house as dust free as possible, I thought bagless would help. It’s terrible! The dirt and dust goes everywhere when I empty the container leaving me ithy and sneezing! I have my daughters leave the room when I vacuum and I often wear a mask so I limit exposure to the dust. Unfortunately, I am a WAHM and we can’t really afford a wonderful vacuum like this, so I make do. Pink is perfect, my aunt is a survivor and my girls love pink!
