Janice and I each have two children. Janice’s boy, Jackson, is eight years old and her little Olivia is two years old. My Julia will be five in May and my Sophia is two years old (two weeks younger than Olivia.)

We’re both lucky to have husbands who put up with our crazy blogging lives. (Although, neither of them like us to blog ABOUT them… which is why you don’t see many photos of them on the site.)
Around here you’ll often find us laughing about stories of our chaotic lives as work at home moms. But 5 Minutes for Mom is about more than us… it’s about Bringing Moms Together. This site is really all about you!
We have a great group of writers here to inspire, encourage and empower you. We couldn’t survive without our amazing virtual assistant Erica Stall and our new technical assistant Erica Mueller.

This Blog Party has been a lot of fun, but could I make one teeny, tiny, little suggestion for next year? Would you please consider dividing the “Family Friendly Blogs” into smaller categories… perhaps Preschool Blogs, Homeschool Blogs, Parenting Blogs – I’m sure other readers will have other suggestions based on the theme of their blogs. I’ve been blog hopping and there are so many blogs that are wonderful for what they are, but they just aren’t for me… and while I’ve stopped by far more than 20, I haven’t left comments at all of them because I don’t really want to just say “Jennifer was here,” I want to leave a meaningful comment, an encouraging comment, a “nice to meet you, see you again” comment… and unfortunately, for many of the blogs I’ve visited, I just can’t. I don’t have preschoolers anymore, I’m doing ok in the parenting area (I’ve had LOTS of training and experience with that), and what I’m really looking for are other homeschooling Moms I can chat with, relate to, share ideas with. I know they’re out there; I’m just struggling to find them. Anyway, I just thought with such a large category (almost 2000!), subdivisions might make it easier for Moms like me to connect to other Moms like me… or like them, you know what I mean! 😉 Thanks for considering it. I have to say, “thank-you”. I wish I had thought of blogging earlier. (I didn’t know much about blogging – heck, I still don’t really) It would have helped me through my pregnancy with twins (I had to leave work – I’m a displaced workaholic). I knew nothing about having twins. Since the UBP, I have found so many wonderful blogs and websites about twins (even though mine are almost 2).

Well, I technically have a blog but I don’t really feel like it fits into any of the categories and I don’t post actual blog posts that I’ve written (it’s more like a directory of giveaways) so I’m going to participate in the UBP by visiting lots of the participating blogs!

I’ve been really excited for the UBP. Last year during the party I went into preterm labor and my baby passed away after only 10 minutes. This year it feels like I’ve come full circle and I can celebrate his life, however short, and enjoy his birthday in peace.

I love your blog and have been following for a long time. Come to think of it, I cannot recall seeing any pics of your husbands – it is funny, I don’t usually like posting photos of myself either – I would say it is a guy thing, but my wife is the same way. The kids love seeing themselves though, which is good because without pics of them, I wouldn’t have much of a Dadblog.
I began my blog in 2008 but this is my first UBP and I am very excited!
