DIY Gift Tags – Fun and Colorful Christmas Labels – Free Printables

Do you enjoy wrapping Christmas gifts? Do you start early or wait until the last minute?

I remember when I was little and my mother would take over the den for weeks as she meticulously wrapped present after present while listening to Christmas music and slowly savouring one or two Christmas cookies and her cup of tea.

She spent countless hours tying bows on gifts and making sure each gift was a work of art.

It was part of her holiday tradition and while we begged to be let in to the secret room, we also loved the idea of her working away like one of Santa’s elves creating the most beautiful presents for us.

We didn’t mind that our TV room was off limits for days on end.

Once she was done wrapping, she’d put some of the beautifully wrapped gifts under the tree for us to admire until Christmas and then she’d hide away the rest.

My favorite part of December was laying in front of the tree, admiring the lights, the pretty presents, and absorbing the feeling of magic around me.

Now as a mother myself, I wonder how on earth my mother made the time (and had the patience) to wrap those gifts so carefully. She was always incredibly busy, but wrapping our gifts mattered to her and she loved doing it. So she made her annual Christmas wrapping a priority.

I tend to wait until a couple of days before Christmas (if not the night before) and I frantically wrap as fast as I can.

A few gifts get bows, but most simply get a cute Christmas label and a bow.

I love to use colorful Christmas labels so that the gifts look pretty even if I didn’t spend hours wrapping like my mother.
