Six Kids and Still a Work-At-Home Success!

Gabrielle

Gabrielle Blair is an inspiration. As the founder of Kirtsy and the hugely successful blog DesignMom, Gabrielle has long been a woman to watch online.

But what I find most amazing is that as well as rocking the online world daily, she has just birthed her sixth baby and doesn’t seem to have missed a beat.

During BlogHer 2010, with her precious baby on her hip, Gabrielle shares her secrets to work-at-home success…

What About You?

Do you work at home? Do you wish you could work at home?

Do you think the chaos and challenges of being a work-at-home-mom are worth the benefits?

  1. Thanks for posting this, truly inspirational!

  2. I love hearing the inspirational success stories of work at home moms! Six kids and still workin it! That’s awesome!

  3. I met Gabrielle when I went to the Kirtsy book signing in San Francisco; she is so sweet. And she really is an inspiration.

I work from home and away from home part time for a publishing company when the kids are in school. I truly appreciate the flexibility to work on my writing deadlines in between swim meet and soccer games and I love the extra time at home with my kids, but working from home can also be a balancing act. 🙂

Love Design Mom and Gabrielle! Thanks for the great interview 🙂

Gabrielle’s sense of style is so effortlessly chic. Also: I can’t tell you how much I love that she has 6 kids (yay for big families!) and that she did that interview w/ her baby on her hip (a mama after my own heart). 🙂

I do work at home. And it is HARD. Partly because I don’t have child care right now. For me, that was the biggest realization – there’s no way I can be completely productive at work while caring for my kids simultaneously. It’s just not happening.

  7. Learning to ask for help is one of the biggest challenges for me as a mother!

I was thrilled to get a chance to see Gabrielle speak at BlogHer.

I too am a work-from-home mom. I can’t even imagine having 6 kids and finding the success that Gabrielle has. The career I have built for myself & the life I’ve provided for my daughter has certainly been worth the difficulty of finding success while taking care of my little one.

But lucky me, Mr Scoutie Girl is taking the plunge to be a full-time dad and help with what’s become the family business starting next week. A dream come true!
