I am careful to limit his time playing video games and make sure he stays active in sports, playing the piano and hanging out with friends, etc., but I do indulge his passion for gaming too.

  42. Because of financial struggles, my boyfriend had to sell his XBox. Because his brother is so far away, the only way they “spent time together” was playing on XBox Live. I really hope I win this because it bums me out to see my boyfriend missing his brother so much. This would make him so happy again.

  58. My sad story is that my husband and I thrilled our oldest Grandson last year with a basic Xbox and a Madden NFL game. Sorry to say, his Mother (our step-daughter and we don’t like the word “step” as related to any of our extended family) destroyed it in a fit of rage aimed at another family member. She does not have the means to replace it (nor do we, at this point in time) so if we could win this (thanks for the opportunity) … It would definitely be a blessing!

  263. you should post a request on your local freecycle (yahoo group) to see if anyone has a box they can give you for free. It won’t be new but maybe someone has one they are not using. Freecycle is groups of people who want to keep usable items out of landfills. do a search for freecycle (your city). Post a simple request and see what happens. Not saying you will get one but it can’t hurt to ask for one in good condition, at the same time you can post that you have a broken one that someone can have for free, someone may want one for parts.   491. I’ve been thinking for sometime about buying an Xbox. Mostly, thanks to my friend that has me super addicted and thinks that playing online together would be the coolest thing since sliced bread. This need for an Xbox became all the more apparent with the recent announcement by my nephew and I quote, “Aunt Ashley, you need an Xbox or a Wii. They’re so much better than those things”. Mind you, he said this while motioning to my Gamecube and my Super Nintendo…like they were old, useless eisores. So, needless to say, I’m video game deprived apparently.     I have a 13 year old son and a 13 year old grandson.
    Well we have only 1 income so money is very tight.
    My son wanted a xbox so I thought he deserved one as he worked for hard at school and at home.
    He had a 4.0 gpa, was student of the year, was in 7th grade doing all honors class’s plus doing online class’s.
    He got promoted from 7th grade to 9th grade.
    Well I couldn’t afford the $299.00+ at the time for a xbox so bought him a refurbished one for $150.00 thinking I had gotten a good deal.
    My son was sooo happy he was enjoying playing it for a hour here a few minutes there getting in about 20 hours of total play WHEN my grandson who lives 1200 miles away came to visit.
    Well of coarse my grandson wanted to play the xbox as he doesn’t have one and in today’s day and age what kid doesn’t have one?
    My son had cross country practice then football so he wasn’t going to be home.
    He says “mom I’m sorry but I don’t want him to play the xbox when I’m not home” I told my son he was being greedy he then mentions “I don’t want anything to happen to it” so I say it won’t.
    Oh jinx darn shouldn’t have said that..
    My grandson goes to turn it on to play and the red ring of death, xbox will not turn on, will not operate.
    My son who barely ever shows emotion was crying, my grandson so upset because he ruined his uncle’s xbox.
    A company that will not cover the xbox
    And a xbox collecting dust.
    Now again my son deserves a xbox as he still is working hard at school at sports.
    He’s 13 in 9th grade and taking a test soon to see if next fall he can take college class’s at college half a day and high school class’s the other half a day.
    So I think he’s a winner and needs a new xbox 360

  1183. Some game usage is great for hand to eye coordination and thumb dexterity. We had an Xbox360 up until I fired my babysitter and she destroyed it for fun. It wasn’t the best moment. It took me a year to save up for that one so I am still saving up for the new one but have begun taking a couple minutes every day trying to win one too. With 7 kids, and a hubby who loves it too, it is definitely a good thing as long as it isn’t allowed to rule one’s life.
