Last summer Julia and her neighborhood friends spent day after day taking turns towing each other about in her Step 2 wagon.
And now that winter is behind us, I’m excited for another season of wagon riding.
I think that for a toddler a wagon is almost as crucial of an outdoor toy as a bike is for a school child. And for us as parents, a wagon is such a handy way to safely transport our tots to and from the park.
The Step 2 Wagon we used for the last couple of years was an old one that we discovered at a garage sale. You’ve got to love the fantastic quality of Step 2 that allows you to resell your kids’ toys once they’ve out-grown them.
But now I’m extra excited to use this fancy new Step 2 Canopy Wagon.

I absolutely love that it has a canopy to protect the kids from the sun!!!
Skin cancer tends to run in my family and so I’m extra careful to keep my girls sun-safe, but it can be tough. We were blessed that our little redhead Julia was born with a love for hats and sunglasses. For her first two summers, most neighbors didn’t even know she had red hair, because she never took off her hat.
I don’t know if we’ll be as lucky this summer… as a finicky three year old, I suspect many days she’ll toss her hat aside in an attempt to illustrate her independence.
Thanks to Step 2, I’m worrying a little less. At least while she’s riding in her wagon, her little red head will be in the shade.

OMG I am so been searching for this everywhere. I have 5 kids and hubby is currently deployed and with summer here I have been taking them everywhere. I have been wanting to get this for the Zoo trips and the park trips. This would be so great.
I have a 3 year old Girl named Kayla and 1 year old Boy named Caden. There are two wagons in the neighborhood that the neighborhood kids pull them around in. Recently I noticed that the wheels were busted. My kids and our neighborhood kids would absolutely love this wagon. My sweet Tessa was born with a rare congenital heart defect and we make visits and stays at Sick Kids Hospital in Toronto, Ontario. The Step 2 Wagon would be awesome to push her around in all over the hospital for a break and allow her to feel like a kid even for a short while. And the top would be great to put Mommy’s bottle of water on too.
Hoping we can use this to get to the store (about a mile walk) this summer – for exercise and to get to the ice cream store next to it. We don’t have a 2nd car…not for the last month, so we’re sending daddy on errands with his business cargo van. My littlest is going to be 2 in July, so I am thinking she’d enjoy riding.

I love this. This will be my little on is very fair we slathered on sunscreen, but no hats stay on. This is great it means we can take a longer walk!
