Hundreds of unanswered emails and pages of neglected to-do lists finally forced Janice and me to face the truth — we need help managing “5 Minutes for Mom”.
On April 21st we sent out our S.O.S. and we were flooded with applications from so many talented women that choosing the ‘one’ became another enormous task.
But we sifted, sorted, blog visited and consulted our team of writers.
We analyzed our needs and determined that the role would be a 40 hour per week, long term position and thus we required a new team member who would plan to be a part of “5 Minutes for Mom” for a long time.
We chose Amy Mueller and we could not be happier about our decision. Over the last couple of weeks we have seen that we definitely have found a perfect new teammate.
As well as being our Virtual Assistant, Amy is now in charge of “Advertising and Communications” for 5 Minutes for Mom.
Please help us welcome Amy…
Amy Mueller is a small town girl turned Midwestern suburban lady. She has resided in the suburbs of Chicago for just over a decade and claims to have a “love affair” with the windy city. Amy spent a good part of the last ten years working in the corporate world, assuming roles such as executive assistant, recruiter and director of first impressions. In the fall of 2005, she and her husband welcomed the newest member of their family into the world. After laying eyes on their precious daughter, the decision was made that Amy would assume the role of research associate – child development and human relations, aka “stay-at-home-mom”. With her demanding new position, she felt the need to have some sort of creative outlet and that’s when she became…a blogger.
Amy has been actively involved in the online parenting community for several years and is a contributor at the Chicago Moms Blog. In late 2007, she appeared in a segment on the Today Show, as well as was quoted in an article about the power of mommy bloggers in the Daily Herald, a Chicago suburban newspaper. She has participated in a group panel focused on mothers who know tech, which was sponsored by Google and is currently a member of the Yahoo! Mother Board. Because of her influence in the blogging world, Amy recently had the opportunity to visit the CBS studio in New York City and meet with Katie Couric.
Amy is also co-founder of MumsTheWurd, a blog that features unique products and boutiques found around the web and beyond.
In her spare time, Amy can be found enjoying every minute of her life with her husband and little girl. She loves photography, good wine and dreaming about living a peaceful life in the mountains. She is also a complete geek and has to have every tech gadget imaginable.

I love this, thought I’d share …
