My three year old Julia was thrilled with our airplane ride and fancy hotel… but meeting Abby Cadabby from Sesame Street sent her over the top!
This year at BlogHer 08 there was a Sesame Street room packed with tasty treats and the real-life Grover and Abby Cadabby. Can a 3 year old’s life get much better than having a Sesame Street puppet come to life and play with her?
The only trouble was that Julia thought that Abby was her new friend and back at the hotel room she wanted to phone her and ask her to come over and play.
(Since our babies, Sophia and Olivia, are still nursing, Janice and I brought an entourage of both babies, Julia and my nanny with us to BlogHer. You should have seen all of our luggage! It was beyond embarrassing.)
That smile on her face is priceless. I know you made her night indeed. So neat you all got to do that 🙂

My daughter would have so loved this! Abby Cadabby is one of her favorites! “Mommy, can you tell me how to turn a punkin back into a toaster?” Yeah, we watch her all the time!
I’d have to say, that is pretty darn cool for a three year old!

I think it was great that you could take your little ones there. As always you show what it takes to be an online icon and a mother. You put your motherhood first and I comment you for that. Thanks for showing us that doing it all is possible. You just need to get the nanny!!! I would have loved to be a fly on the wall watching you all unload, get the baggage counter, through security, and on your way. Good times, I’m sure!!
What a cute picture! Abby Caddabby is such a fun character. My daughter likes her too, especially since they have the same name.
As for the luggage…that’s just the worst when you’re traveling. Pack-n-Plays, carseat, strollers, diaper bags, and suitcases out the wazoo! There’s barely any room in the car for the kids. haha!
