Daddy Dolls

Jess from O Mama Mia! wrote to us and told us about the most heart-warming and brilliant mom-invented product…
Daddy Dolls!

Daddy DollsJess said:

“Daddy Dolls began with two military wives who wanted their children to have something that kept their deployed husbands in the children’s minds & hearts. So they created Daddy Dolls.

You can send them a photo of Daddy & they print it on a doll, or pillow. It has since branched out & they make Mommy, Gramma, Grampa, Aunts, Uncles… you name it. You can also send them a picture of your child’s artwork & they will make it in to a pillow for a loved one.

Amazing & unique concept. I applaud these Mommies’ ingenuity.”

We have added Daddy Dolls to our Shopping Directory and our Mom-Owned Stores page.

See a photo of the inventors on their feature page.

Maybe you could make them with arms. And have the palms with velcrow so they can have their arms around them.and put a voice recorder say goodnight or something like that.

  2. I would like to get a daddy doll for our daughter. When her daddy leaves for duty she has a hard time adjusting. I think this daddy doll would be a perfect idea for her and might help the seperation issues when he is away on NAVY duties and overseas

Hey guys, for those of you out there who like the idea of Daddy dolls, there’s an even better “Daddy/Mommy/Deployment doll” out there called HUGGEE MISS YOU. They are actually the original version created before Daddy/Mommy dolls ever started. HUGGEE MISS YOU are great user friendly versatile dolls that you can put a picture of your loved one in and even record there voice! The HUGGEE MISS YOU doll is a much softer plush like doll that is 12 inches, a perfect size unlike the Daddy doll which is almost the size of my son. The HUGGEE MISS YOU dolls have helped my family with separation issues because of deployment overseas. My son can see a picture of his father and even hear his voice when he’s miles away. The biggest perk of HUGGEE MISS YOU dolls is that they are a fraction of the price of Daddy dolls. $10.95 non-recordable and 14.95 for recordable.

  6. my son is oversea and would like 2 know how 2 get a doll for my 2 year old granson. he misses his daddy so much. ty

  7. These ‘Daddy Dolls’ are a great idea, but I do have a question…WHY do so many people in this country seem to forget that we have thousands of FEMALE Military deployed in the war too? Our daughter just returned from her second tour of Irag & will more than likely be going back again next year, this last time in Iraq she was out on convoy 6 to 7 days a week each & every week. So come on, lets all try to remember our FEMALE Soldiers too!

  10. I actually have one of these from when they first began, at the time my hubby had went to Iraq and I wanted to make sure my little girl got to see her daddy and cuddle with him every day. She still sleeps with that doll and she’s 4 now.

  11. I wish I had had these for my kids during Bosnia/Kosovo and early Afghanistan. Luckily they are older now. I might see if the company will make cousin dolls of my kids for their baby cousin.

Oh, I should make a “husband-doll” but I’d be embarrassed when he came home and found the doll covered in lip gloss and mascara-tear stains. 😉 So I think the Daddy Doll idea is a better idea.

  16. What a clever idea. I know when my dad was overseas when I was a child I would have liked one. First time visitor here. What a great site!

  17. Mom101,

Yes, I agree it does make me want to cry too. I was almost in tears as I looked through the photo gallery on their website. It is so hard to imagine all those little kids missing their daddies. But I’m so glad that they have their Daddy Dolls.

  18. This is a really great idea…thanks for sharing it…

  21. What a great idea. Would also be good for kids who have separation problems and need some extra security while away from mom for an extended period.
