We love skype. My DH is in Iraq so Skype is the only way my 4 daughters and I communicate with him. They love to kiss daddy on the computer… my screen is always a mess these days! We’ve just bought a web cam for Gamma (DH’s mom) who lives 5 hours away from her 4 granddaughters and plan to begin skyping with her soon as well. Thanks for the great giveaway!!

My hubby’s parents are from England, & have retired to Greece (Corfu). We visit every few years but inbetween, phone calls can really be impersonal. I just looked over the Skype features & it sounds like something we really should look into. I kinda can’t believe we haven’t before. It would be great for Nana to be able to see her juju boy while talking to him!

We do use Skype so The Bean can chat with her grandparents. She loves calling them on the computer. We do need a new webcam though. Ours is having problems lately!

You know what’s funny about this is that I loaded Skype on my computer many months back and have yet to figure it all out. I would love for my parents to be able to interact with my parents on the other side of the country.

I have never used Skype at home, only at my parents when they speak to my uncle in south africa or cousins in Israel. My older sister and her family are moving to a different continent this summer and we were just discussing adding international calling (we use phone cards now) to our phone plan. For some reason we never thought of skype (until now). I would love to be able to keep up with my sister on a daily basis like we do now and be able to see my neices and nephews growing up. My twins are under a year and I would hate for them to grow up without “seeing” their cousins.

I have never used Skype before but I know just who I’d call first…my mom while holding my little boy in my lap. A drunk driver hit my mom head-on last year and she has been hundreds of miles away unable to visit very much because of all the pain she’s in and the physical therapy she’s had to undergo. It breaks her heart that she doesn’t get to visit with her one and only grandchild that much and seeing him through a webcam every day would be the next best thing!

We love skype.Last weekend i called England from canada ,first my mum then my grandmother then my aunt and in total it cost me aprox $3.50!!!

We use Skype all the time, especially since we’re living in Brazil. It’s so wonderful to be able to keep in touch with family and friends….but my parents need a better camera, so this would be perfect!!!! My son Camden would definitely call Papa and Gamma!

My husband is from England and he also misses his family much. He has been using Skype to call them at deeply discounted rates for about a year. It would be so great to have a webcam to “enhance” our calls a little… especially with a new baby on the way in Feb. It would be great for them to see her “live” rather than in still pictures.

This would be awsome. I never have been able to use Skype as i dont have a webcam but i would love to use it. We have family all over the east coast but mainly we woul dlove to use it with my Aunts and Grandma in FLorida who only get to see my boys once a year. I would have our little boy call his little cousin who lives in a different country. They have not seen each other since the summer and we don’t want them to forget about each other.

OH, this is super exciting! I have never used Skype, but I have heard all about it and am eager to get on the bandwagon. Last year we moved from Oregon to Texas, and we have been missing our family *desperately*. My brother called (the conventional way) this morning from Dubai. He had just heard about Skype and so told me about it. I am SO excited! My brother wants me to sign my Dad up for Skype so we can connect more often. Mom passed away last April, and the family (5 brothers spread all over the place: China, Saudi Arabia, Oregon) are doing our best to keep in touch with Dad and make sure he knows he is LOVED! I was introduced to Skype this year by a friend and now I use it daily to grow my relationship with him even though he lives on the other side of the country from me (I live in AB and he lives in NS, Canada). The first person I’d contact if I won this new webcam would be Heath. We use Skype almost every day to speak about how our day went, listen to music together and even play games. I have been introduced to his mother via Skype and I am looking forward to my parents meeting him via Skype as well (a new webcam would enable them to do that). I am hoping to travel to spend some time with Heath in 2009. Using Skype together is definitely the next best thing to being there in person.

Yes, I have used Skype and actually own a skype phone and sent one to Guatemala for hubbys relatives… they don’t have high speed internet yet but they have a computer coming so we will be able to talk via Skype for free soon enough. The first people we’d call would be hubby’s mom and dad in Guatemala.

Not sure if my first post went through. I’ve never used Skype. I’d use it to talk with my sister who I do not see very often.

Yes, I use Skype. My best friend and I live over 800 miles apart (in different countries) and we haven’t seen each other in years. The webcam view is nice and large and the sound is clear. I would really love to win this prize as my ancient cam is in serious need of replacing.

This giveaway has us in mind . . . we are in the same position as you – my entire family lives in Africa and its awful having my daughter grow up not knowing her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and so on. My sister just got skype and she has been begging me to get hooked up, this would be so perfect! I do use skype on a daily basis. It’s incredible.. The service was much better in the early days before so many discovered it. Now the background noise is very loud, I was told due to so many users…. over 11,000,000 on christmas! AND you do lose calls after talking more than 20 mins usually. They offer several plans, pc to pc free and then you can pay as little as $3 monthly to call landlines and cell phones from your pc. My friends wish I had a better webcam tho which would make it so much nicer when calling friends and family far away. I didn’t have one at all for years… I have used skyped for a couple years now… so finally got an inexpensive one but it doesnt work that well. and doesn’t adjust or angle at all. It would be great to win this webcam…

We used Skype while in China this past September 20008 while adopting our new daughter. It was wonderful to talk to family and share our new daughter with them. I will give the webcam to my mom so that we can continue to Skype; so she can see her granddaughter! Thank you!

my mother has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, this would be so wonderful to keep in touch with her since we live apart, i’ve never used skype, but i hear it’s such a great way to be with your loved ones.

I have never used Skype, but I’ve seen it on Oprah’s show several times and was impressed at the clarity of the picture it gives. If I were lucky enough to win, I’d probably make my first “call” to my friend Markus in Sweden, whom I haven’t seen in several years and would love to chat with over webcam. I thought I was advanced using Vonage, so no I haven’t used Skype. But my daughters would love to use the webcam to talk to their dad.

Well, I’ve never had a webcam at all…but, I have looked at them on different sites. Skype is a good brand, especially the full tilt and pan. As to whom I would call…that would be you Sue…who else? I really need one of these to run my ebay sales and my blog site. It would be too kewl to win one. Being totally disabled, I have limited funds to buy anything. Thanks for the chance to win.

My sister when she was here from Dallas and got me hooked-up with Skype but later I had to scrub my OS. So if I got it again (with a webcam) I would call my sis.

I have not used Skype before but would really like to start! If I were to win my husband and I would use Skype all the time to stay connected with both sets of our parents who both live out of state. Yes! We use Skype all the time. My brother just moved to Australia a few months ago. I am so grateful that I can still talk to him without going broke with long distance bills. Plus, it’s amazing to be able to SEE him on the computer… just like on the Jetson’s.

I use skype everyday to talk to my husband who is currently working in africa..so it is hard but i still can see and hear him kiss me goodnight and say i love you..it helps alot!!
