Actually this picture doesn’t even begin to show the size of this tree or how high Jackson climbed! Jackson has been climbing trees since he was four and so I was surprisingly calm until he got near the top. Then my blood pressure rose and I insisted he get.down.right.now. (The getting down process took some time! He climbed really high!)
Post a photo on your site, link up and find others… Wordless Wednesday is tons of fun. (And I know it says “wordless” but I just can’t bear to not write anything! If I had created it, I probably would have named it something different! LOL)
Here is a fun thumbnail linky…
But if you prefer the old style, you can use this linky:
Thanks to Uisce for creating Wordless Wednesday.

Did you know that Susan and I own two online toy stores where you can find unique toys for Christmas like a pedal car or an inspiring toy kitchen. You know, in case Santa needs any ideas!

That is such a great photo, I love how the sun is shining through the tree branches.
It reminds me of how my sister and I used to climb trees when we were little – good times!
LOL I love your reaction to Get down. Now. Mine would have been exactly the same! My oldest is a competitie gymnast and is pretty sure she can climb anything. I often find myself holding my breath as she tests her limits..and mine:)
Great capture!
lol boys are just like monkeys, aren’t they?
That looks like fun!
Love that photo. Makes me remember how fearless I was when I was that age. I loved to climb trees too until I realized I wasn’t invincible. 🙂
ooh, that makes my mommy nerves act up! Too high!!!
Oh goodness. I would not be calm around a child climbing such a tall tree. I am not scared of heights I am scare of someone falling. You are one brave mommy.
What a great shot!
Oh my. I remember seeing posts of him when he was little.. he’s growing up so fast 🙂
My kids love climbing trees and it always gives me a heart attack to see them up so high. My nerves don’t settle until they are back down on the ground. I always picture the worst….probably because I am terribly afraid of heights. Strange that my kids didn’t get that from me.
both my kids are monkeys so I expect many pictures like that in my future 🙂
Happy WW!
I could see my youngest trying this as he gets older. It scares me, but I can imagine the great pictures from both points of view 😉
wow, amazing pic. my son scares the heck outta me too when he climbs trees.
Oh, boys and their adventures! What makes blogging win out over being overprotective? The fact that the shot may be better if he goes up another foot or two so we put overprotectiveness aside and encourage him to climb higher!!
My son climbins up two feet at two and I get nervous. I am not ready for extreme climbing yet.

I should not typed this early in the morning.
I am so afraid of the day when our son decides to start climbing trees. It is important to let them explore, and I climbed trees as a child, but still it is scary when they get up so high.
I too have a cheeky boy, my grandson http://prem2pram.wordpress.com/2010/11/24/wordless-wednesday-with-mr-linky/
That is an awesome shot! Love the color.
Whao..that’s a really tall tree.. he must enjoy being up there.
Happy WW
Boys! He’s sure is high up there though. 🙂
yet another thing I get to look forward to having a boy, right?
would love the return visit
How cute! I love the colors in the background – that is really a neat shot!
What a little monkey! LOL I don’t blame you for telling him to get down. I would too 🙂
This is a wonderful pic! It always makes me smile to see kids climbing in trees, especially in our helicopter parenting society!
The perspective on that shot is great! And also the sunlight at the bottom. That’s one brave boy! I’m scared of heights….
Thanks! Yes – I really like the sunlight at the bottom. It made it feel like he was climbing higher than the sun. (Which it felt like to a nervous mom!)
And thanks for the feedback – I wasn’t sure if it was a “good enough” shot. I am tough on myself for WW.
Oh man, my son climbs our tree and it freaks me out every single time! *shaking my head* Being a mom is NOT easy! LOL
It is brutal isn’t it! Not one easy day!
O-Geez that would freak me out!!! Very cool picture though!
YA – it was a tough one. If he fell it would have been VERY serious! So I asked him not to climb that high again — pleeeaase!
I’m not sure who is braver — you or Jackson!
🙂
Traci
LOL – there was another father at the park and he thought I was NUTS!
Wow, great shot Janice!! Love the light and the height!
Nice rhyming, eh? lol
What kind of camera do you have again? What lens?
A girls’ gotta make her wish-list, right?
Have a great week,
Tammi
Thanks!!! I have a Canon 50D and an L series 24-70mm lens. The lens is really nice – I had wanted it for years!!! And I use Lightroom to add that extra ummph. 🙂
How cute! I could NEVER climb that high. Even young and in shape!
Neither could I!!!
I adore climbing trees! Our grandchildren recently had the opportunity to climb a huge oak tree and we have awesome photos from the adventure! I bet Jackson would love your photo framed and hanging on the wall of his bedroom! Happy WW!
Isn’t it great to have good climbing trees! 🙂
Looks like you’ve got quite the dare devil on your hands! 🙂 Thanks for the linkup!
He wasn’t though when he was small. But one day he started climbing a tree and realized how much fun it was!
That is one of the best tree-climbing shots I’ve ever seen. Definitely one to save for the books! 🙂
Thanks! I was wondering whether or not to post it. He got so much higher and the tree was so big that it didn’t really capture it that well. So thanks!
I’m such a chicken! I never would’ve climbed trees like that. I just hope my kids don’t inherit my chicken genes!
I am a chicken too! But my mom said she loved to climb trees!
