It’s still Earth Week, and we’re still sharing the celebration with you.
When we did a series on New Habits in the New Year by far the most popular contest was for minusbags, reusable canvas shopping bags. I don’t want to repeat myself, so you can read my January post for some of the details.

However, I will say that bringing my own shopping bags is one green habit that I am proud to say has finally taken hold in my life. I now own enough canvas bags that I rarely have to rely on the store’s paper or plastic (that is, if I remember to bring them with me, which I almost always do).
I love the design. It’s sturdier than the canvas bags I’ve purchased at the grocery store, and because of its unstructured design, it holds more, but looks nicer. This is the bag that I grab if I’m headed to the library or going somewhere other than the supermarket.

The bag I carry around for, shopping , stashing groceries, books, and other items in is finally wearing out. I received it in High School. Loved the mime/clown image. My Mom brought it especially for me. Going to cut out the front and use in for a pillow or in a memory quilt.

Hey Moms … We had our fifth child back last year, and I was looking for flexible ways to make some extra money while she stayed home with kids. As we turned to the internet, and started researching different ideas, she continually ran into scam and spam at every turn. As I became more involved, we realized there were money making opportunities, they just need to be uncovered and understood. While much of this has been trial and error, we started to discover what was successful and what wasn’t. At this point, it was time to document some ideas and successes, and hopefully get some feedback and suggestion from other entrepreneurs. Of course, part of this blog in itself is not only to share ideas, but hopefully gather a viewer and referral base, to have more opportunities for everyone to be successful.

Great bag for just about anything
The resusable bags I have are very boxy, so they’re great for groceries, but not for other things like library books or for taking a few toys to church. And did I mention that they have our supermarket’s name stamped in bright red and blue on the front? This bag would work so much better for all the OTHER uses.

And in addition, these bags are much sturdier than the plastic ones which seem to get thinner all the time, and sometimes they will rip from the counter to my cart! ack! I have never used a “minusbag” for grocery shopping or any kind of shopping because they were either too ugly to carry, weren’t strong enough to hold my purchases or weren’t large enough. I think I would really use this minusbag if I won one:)

My local grocery store gives you back 5¢ back every time you use one of their canvas bags, but I could sure use one for Wal-Mart — they have a tendency to put one item per bag!
I am addicted to bringing my own reusable bags whenever I go shopping. I am trying to encourage my boyfriend to remember to bring them when he does the shopping. Maybe walking with a bag like this one will boost his confidence. It’s not only beautiful ( it could be manly too…)

This bag looks great, the perfect size for shopping. Most of the reusable shopping bags I’ve found are far too small to be useful. This looks just right.
I really love the size of this canvas bag. The ones that I used are too small. It defeats the purpose if I still have to use a store’s bags. The ones that I have our for teacher’s and children and look a bit too feminine for my husband. He offers to carry them especially since I’m 5mos pregnant, but always switches it to the plain side!
I am trying very hard to adopt some Greener habits. Using totes instead of plastic bags is a great step.

I absolutely love this bag!!!! Right now I have 1 Target reusable bag, 2 Whole Foods reusable bags, and a Greendimes reusable bag.
