I just heard that our oldest daughter and family might be coming to spend christmas with us, we moved 1200 miles away from all our family except our youngest 2 children 7 years ago due to employment downsizing, so holidays have been lonely, because it never seemed like family members could get employment schedules that would allow holiday visits. I miss our huge family get togethers. So will be getting prepared for the visit. I’m keeping my fingers crossed.
So if I won we could use the prize to purchase some materials we need to finish repairs that we are in need of finishing.

I would use this gift card to update our bathrooms. We are the second owners of this 1978 home. Since I am a stay at home mom, we live on one income. So any home improvements are slow because of saving up for them!

Oh wow, a trip to Home Depot! I think I’d have to try for a patio set and a grill. We moved over the summer and we finally have a yard to enjoy, but no outdoor furniture or anything like that. It would be nice to create a little outdoor retreat in the backyard.

Oh wow, what an amazing giveaway!! The question is, what wouldn’t I use this for? I’m in the middle of a huge remodel – completely renovating bathroom, kitchen, building an addition, building a driveway (because my house doesn’t have one!!) – you name it! Home Depot is our go-to place and this would be such a great thing! Also, my oven is whacked out (it cooks everything roughly 100 degrees hotter than the marked temperature), so perhaps I would purchase a new oven with this. It would be such a help either way!! My daughter has 3 children and her husband hasn’t been on his new job too long. Right now she’ll really have it hard buying her children some Christmas. I have another daughter who will be able to get her 2 kids a couple of things. They just lost their dad yesterday and I’m sure they’ll need money for funeral expenses. We would buy a new dishwasher ours broke a week before we had the baby and now I spend 3x/day dishwashing. I love the front loaders I bought this summer from Home Depot..they are energy efficiant and gorgous to boot. My husband has bee wanting a $700 generator from Home Depot. We look at it every time we go to the store. We can not afford it now, but if I won this I’d buy it for him and surprise him. He deserves it and I’d love to give it to him!
Our house needs outside lights put up so that’s what I’d buy!!
There are SO many different direction I could go with the $500 that it’s making my head spin just thinking about it. I could get close to replacing the stove my FIL bought (with out consulting me) and which is a regular stove instead of the drop in that it replaced.
I could pull up the flooring that is coming up on its own anyway and replace it with something more permanent (that won’t rip the boys’ socks when they are walking through the room).
Don’t even get me started on the outside – ah . . . thinking about this is only second to thinking about winning the lottery (except I don’t actually PLAY the lottery).

I absolutely know – we have to tear down our ceiling and replace it the week after Christmas. Then we’re painting the entire downstairs, ceiling included. That’s what we’d do with it.
I can’t decide what to use it on! I do need a new washer, as mine could wake the dead when it’s spinning (it sounds like it just might jump through the walls some days, and it’s often not in the same place it started by the end of the cycle), but we could also use some repairs and some new stuff. Too tough to choose, but I’m sure I’ll find a way. 🙂

I would like this giveaway for my own reasons. I wasn’t the best teenager, in fact I often got in trouble. One summer I let some people into the house, and well my dads drills and tools got stollen. I was in so much trouble! Anyhow they forgave me and I’ve never replaced them. Even though I think about it a lot. So I guess if I won I would give it away. Is that bad of me? I ahve always wnated LED Christmas lights, and a new tool box for the garage. Either way I would love to win!

Wow, this would be an answer to a prayer – we moved just before the market crashed, and have two homes – our new one, and the one that isn’t selling. We have been told as of yesterday that unless we update the kitchen (granite counters, new appliances, refinish cabs) that it likely won’t sell (and we can’t afford that!) so need to spend big bucks on renovation in order to sell old house.
I’ve subscribed, twittered, etc. to get add’l chances to win… now all that’s left to do (after finishing typing) is to cross my fingers!

I can think of thousands of uses for $500 at Home Depot! We need a new dishwasher, new fridge, new molding around ceiling, a new deck, replace outdated lighting fixtures, plus tons of little fixes, and hubby always needs more tools it seems.

If we had a 500 dollar Home Depot GC we would use it towards what we’ve been shopping at Home Depot over the last year for, remodeling. They know us by name down there and are so friendly even remember which projects we’re working on and ask us how they are coming along. We had a flood about a year ago from the bathroom and had to replace all of our beautiful hard wood floors with tile. The problem now being the baseboards still need to be replaced and my happy yellow wall color doesn’t match the tile. With my 8 year old in chemo we don’t have the discretionary funds to put towards those items. I woukld give the Home Depot card a very good home, for about 5 minutes and then it would be gone! POOF!

We just found out the house we moved into has zero insulation in the basement. When I open the cupboards downstairs I get a nice breeze in my face. Our thermostat has to be set on 25.5 Celcius all day long just to keep a decent temperature in the house, we’re going bankrupt from the heating bills. The 500 would be used to help insulate the basement which we have to do soon.
I need a new kitchen floor – this would help!

I would definitely use it towards fencing in our playground area in our backyard. We live pretty deep in the country, and often have animal visitors, which is neat, but I’d rather not worry about them coming near my kids when we’re out playing. (In the past year we’ve had a horse, heard of goats, deer, a bull, cats, dogs, and foxes all visit our home. Most were owned by neighbors & had just escaped, others were wild.) So, DEFINITELY a fence. That’d be nice 🙂

While a high end, front loading washer and dryer may be the dream, my family would use it in another way. We have been remodeling our home for a couple of years now and we have yet to have walls put up in every room. It’s mostly studs.
