This summer has been a summer of firsts for my kids. My son graduated high school and went to work full time with his dad. My daughter started pursuing her dream of being an artist and going to music camp. However, none of those memories compare to the one where she got to actually meet one of her inspirations — Seth, from the Christian music group Skillet.
I will never forget the text she sent me that day after meeting him, talking to him, and hugging him. Her text said, “Mom — now I can die. My life is complete.”
Memory making is SO important for all of us. As we grow older, it’s those memories that make us smile as we reflect on life. Going down memory lane and reminiscing about “Hey — do you remember when” — there is just nothing like it in this world.

vacation in the Smoky Mountains
Going house hunting with my husband for our first house.
I spent a lot of time with my 3 year old grandson. We played in a creek and tried to catch minnows, we went to the duck pond and we ate a lot of ice cream!
What a great story my daughter is still so young only 9 and my son just turned1

My favorite memory from this summer is the weekend we spent in Chicago for the Arlington Million. We went with 5 other couples & had a really great time.
Took a scuba certification class with my daughters this summer; we had a blast !

We went on a Cruise, that was Very memorable! And, we made a picture book to flip thru now!
Starting my college classes. At fifty I decided to go back to school for my BA in Psychology to become a Alzheimer/Dementia Rehabilitative Counselor
My favorite memory was when we went white water rafting with my sisters family.

My favorite memory this summer was taking our kids white water rafting. It was a blast. The kids loved it!
My favorite memory of this summer is going to Nashville with my husband for a mini vacation. We went to grand ol opry, Opry Mills Mall, and Antique Archaeology.
My favorite memories from this summer are watching my son really enjoy the park and beach 🙂 He is now at an age where he can really play and do things for himself 🙂 It is great to watch my little man explore new things.

We have a few, but I really enjoy the days at the park, or outside in our yard just spending time together, and watching my kids grow.
My favorite memory this summer is getting ready to happen in a few days. I’m going to be going to an Imagine Dragons concert.
My favorite was my trip to Honduras, it was amazing.
the summer full of grandbabies! that is how this one will be remembered, 3 grandbabies born this year and we are having such fun with them 🙂
The best memory was saving the life of an outdoor stray cat that I feed. I found him one night ill and lethargic and I was afraid I would have to put him down if he did not get better overnight. I brought him in the house, laid him on the bed, said some prayers and placed a wooden cross next to him. The next day he improved and has had a total recovery! I was so happy, he is a really sweet cat!
Just spending time with my kids. Free movies at the theater were my favorite.
Going to Valley Fair in MN – lots of fun rides and food!
We went to the Maryland State Fair. I have to add I love Skillet so many of there songs hit home for me.

My favorite summer memory this year is an awesome camping and fishing trip I went on with my family.
WOW! I have so many fond memories of this summer. I guess my favorite would be watching my three grandson’s give up their fear of water and learn to swim on their own. Seeing the joy in their eyes when they swim across a pool unassisted is worth every ounce of time and every prayer invested in watching this happen. Also, we visited Dixie Stampeded in Pigeon Forge for a quick family getaway in early spring. The boys are still talking about that show and have asked to go back. I have a surprise trip planned for them in late October … I can already see their faces when I tell them where we are going!
We have great memories of family reunion visits to Walt Disney World.

One of my favorite memories was swimming with the kids this summer. We skipped swim lessons the last two summers, so it was a must this summer. The swim lessons were kind of a pain, but my daughter, now 2 years old, had a blast. The best part was going to my niece’s birthday celebration at her new house that has a pool with a diving board and watching she and my daughter leap off the diving board. All the boys were hanging out on floats in the shallow end and not willing to take the plunge, but my little 2 year old couldn’t get enough of it. Girl power!
My favorite memory was taking a train with my parents and my family to kansas city and having fun there with my girls.

My in-laws came to visit and my husband and I actually had a date! That was the highlight of our summer.
Our oldest son got married in August!
