My eight-year-old daughter was only 18 months old when her little brother joined our family, so I’m not exactly sure what she thought of it all. After reading this delightful book together, we chatted a bit about the book and what she used to think about how babies originated. Take a look:

We just welcomed a new baby and I’m not sure where my daughter thinks he came from. We prepared her for his arrival and she would say hi to him in my stomach, but she never really asked how he got there.
My children always knew that Heavenly Father sent them
I knew that babies came from mama’s bellies, but I didn’t understand quite how they got in there. I thought it was from kissing a lot. haha
When I was little, I think I just thought they grew inside a mother’s tummy.
My little girl just says they grown in mommies tummies! So I’m just gonna leave it at that for now 🙂
My 5 year old just asked the other day, and I wasn’t sure how to answer. Right now he just knows they come from mommy’s tummy!
When I was younger, I knew that women for pregnant, but I just thought that it “happened”. The men on television always seemed so surprised, and my sister and I are only 15 months apart, so there really want much asking on my end.
My daughter knows that babies come from Mommy’s tummy. She also knows that Daddy’s sperm fertilizes Mommy’s egg. Luckily, she believes that happens through kissing and that’s why she’ll NEVER kiss a boy! Hahaha!
I was always as honest as I could be,,without going into too much details,,I told them as little as I could get by with until they were older and could understand more
i cant remember what i thought, my daughter just says from mommys tummy. she may have her own thoughts on it though, that i don’t know of.
munchkin knows its from mommys tummy but he still wonders more about where babies come
I don’t remember if my parents ever really had a sit down chat with me about, where baby’s come from. But, I always recall the stories of baby being delivered by storks in diapers. I don’t know how to exactly bring up the stories of babies to my young son, but I’m sure we will come up with something and hopefully this book will help as well.
When I was little I just thought the doctor brought the baby with him.
My parents were always honest about it with us, I don’t recall my children ever thinking anything differently either we always told them.
not really sure but i have a cute story when i was 7 months prego my 3 yr old son loved my son kicking so i was craving lobster my son saw the lobster walking on the ground and freaked out that it would eat his baby in my tummy
I thought you went to the hospital to get a baby. I guess I thought hospitals were baby stores!

I don’t remember where I thought babies came from, but so far, I have been honest with my own children. I could use a book though!
I’ve been very straightforward with my kids, which meant at least one uncomfortable lunchtime for the teachers at preschool when another child asked where babies come from and my kid gave them the full story.
I don’t remember believing anything but the truth, which is funny because my mother loved all the other stories from childhood. She still writes from Santa on some of my presents.
Mommys tummy they have not quite yet asked that question.
