Years ago, I took a CPR class for work. I even had a little card in my wallet that said I knew how to perform CPR.
But, if an emergency happened and I suddenly had to recall that information from the recesses of my brain, I would be in trouble. I am sure panic would take over and I would completely forget what to do.
And I know I am not alone!
In fact, this is the very reason two Arizona moms, Chris Stevens and Melissa Weisberg, developed, Safety Magnets.
While there is an abundance of first aid information on the web, in books, and from other resources, in an emergency, you need help fast. When an emergency happens, most people don’t have time to find that often misplaced first aid book. What you need is a convenient source of accurate information that everyone in the household can easily locate in an emergency. What better place for that information than a magnet on your refrigerator or inside your medicine cabinet?
Safety Magnets are 5″ x 7″ refrigerator magnets that list first aid steps on what to do in common medical emergencies. They are available in 5 different magnets:
- Child CPR
- Infant CPR
- Infant Choking
- Infant / Child / Adult Choking
- Poisoning / Burns
As well, Safety Magnets come in a fantastic 8 1/2 x 11″ magnetic memo board with safety steps for:
- Infant CPR
- Child CPR
- Iinfant / Child / Adult Choking
This version has a write-on/wipe-off wet-erase marker with a convenient area to write your important and emergency phone numbers.
Safety Magnets are designed with fund raising and company promotion in mind.
These unique magnets are the perfect way to raise money for school, teams, church trips etc. No more fattening chocolates or cookie dough to sell – instead your fundrasing can be centered around a healthy, life saving product.
And instead of putting your company logo on a calendar or notepad, you can use Safety Magnets to continually keep your name at the forefront of your customers minds.
I personally love the Magnetic Memo Board which includes Infant CPR, Child CPR, Infant / Child / Adult Choking and a spot for emergency numbers. If I am out and my babysitter needs emergency information quickly, this is what I want on my fridge.

I had a little bot that passed away and I want to make sure i have one of these in my new guys diaper bag!!!!
I am doing a speech on infant CPR and would love to have one for my speech! I also have two children and would love to have this in my home.
I am doing a speech about infant CPR and would love to use this as a part of my speech!
The number at one time was correct for Poison Control but unbeknownst to us, they changed the number. (In fact, the old number 888-222-1212 is still unfortunately found on many prominient web sites.) We have since taken the number off all of our products and replaced it with Call 911 and we have informed the National Poison Control Center that their old number is still out there. We have also alerted as many customers as we can with this information. Pete
Don’t know if you know this or not, but the phone number that is for poison control on these magnets takes you to an inappropriate hotline. My friend learned then when trying to call poison control for something her son got into. This could have turned into a disaster. Just thought you’d want to know.
Hope I can win one of these. Thanks for the opportunity.

With a one year old who just started walking this is a wonderful idea.
This is a great idea!
magnets would be great!
This would come in very handy! I can hear the conspiracy whispers already between my 4 month old and my 2 year old… goodness knows what they’ll get into!
This is a great item, every family with kids should have something like this on every floor of their home.
I can relate! To fufill a requirement, I once took a cpr internet class- a half hour and 25 dollars later, I was certified- but not that knowledgeable- this sounds like a great prize!
I just re-upped my CPR, but I know that the grandmas don’t know CPR, or at least, they haven’t recertified recently, so I would love one of these. Thanks.
Please enter me too, thank you.
FANTASTIC IDEA!!! Please enter my name into your contest, THANK YOU!!
Great idea! I’m CPR certified, but I have never been “tested” in real life (and I hope I’m not ever!)
Great idea! Must have for all parents/babysitters!

Oh, that would be so handy to have around the house. I’m a single mother who works full time. Sometimes I have no choice but to leave my 14 year old to help me look after her two younger siblings for a few minutes, while I finish up work and of course, when I am doing many household chores. Although my eldest is very responsible, indeed, she as well as I, would love to have these medical safety reminders in case if one of my younger children are in any harm or danger. Please put me down for these magnets. They are a true lifesaver!
Very useful indeed.
pleae enter me I need one of these thanks
This sure would be handy!
If I don’t win this, I’m buying it. I have two small children at home and I always stress out thinking about “what ifs”! I was certified, but I haven’t taken a lesson since my teens.
So, I would love one. I took a CPR class 2 years ago, but I hardly remember it.
This is a great idea. I just finished a CPR/First Aid class but not sure if I could remember it in an emergency situation. Enter me please.
Looks very handy. When we moved into our house, we found an old, 1960’s era poster from a local company showing the Heimlich maneuver taped inside our pantry cabinet. This is the same idea, made a little handier. 🙂
This would be super!!
I could use one of these!
What a life saving prize. Thanks!
Hello, This would be fantastic to own! I have had small ones for the refrigerator, but I have never seen one this large and visible. Please enter me in your drawing. Thanks very much…..Cindi
THis would be great. I am trained in CPR, but feel like I would forget if I needed it. Thanks!

What a great idea! We too took a CPR class but I am always afraid of being put to the test…
Definitely a great thing to have on hand!
This would be great to have. It would alleviate a lot of my fears about my mind going blank in a crisis.
I could use this!
Those are nice to have!
great prize enter me please
Please count me in!
Please pick me! I took a CPR class before my little one was allowed any finger food, but he has a tendancy to gag and just the other day almost choked. I was beside myself that despite the training, I’d forgotten what to do. Luckily, he wasn’t actually choking. That magnet would literally be a lifesaver. Please, please, please…
I can’t think of a better way to use fridge space!
Wow, what a great idea- I need one on every floor!
Oh, I’d love this!
perfect size for my fridge.
Totally count me in.
This is wonderful! I would love one for my refrigerator! Count me in!
I can only think that I’ve dodged a bullet so far with my curious toddler! She sticks EVERYTHING in her mouth and so far she’ll spit it out if I ask her to and if she starts to choke it’s something little… I think this is a great idea!
Such a good idea. Thank you! I know my CPR training could use some quick pointers in an emergency.
What a smart idea.
This is a great tool and I would certainly like to win it.
What a great idea! Even if you have CPR and an emergency arises, you might forget what your supposed to do.
I’d forget my brain if it wasn’t attached. Please enter me.
With a baby in the house, this would be very handy.
I could really use this, my daughter puts everything in her mouth.
Please enter me! 🙂
With two small boys in the house, this would be great to have!

Great idea. I always worry about forgetting as well.

This would be great to have. Please enter me.
This is great I have a 19 month old that is all over and getting into everytthing.
I would love to join. (i’m not from the US nor Canada but I have relatives and friends who live there…=) Hope I am still eligible to join.
Honestly, this is such a very wonderful idea especially for parents and baby caretakers out there.
These safety magnets will be very convenient and life-saving in times of emergencies. We all know how it is when we encounter dilemmas like this. We tend to get nervous, anxious, rattled and far from being focused due to not knowing what to do. We need something handy.
This is very helpful for me since I have a 3-month old baby boy. Doing CPR is life-saving.
A must have and hope to win. 😉 Thanks
I would truly love to have this. It’s been years since I’ve taken a cpr class and with 6 boys you never know what they’re going to try! Thanks again for another wonderful contest!
What a brilliant idea! I was always fearful of my kids choking, and it happened a couple of times. This would be great for my grandbabies mom!
i would really love one of these.. I am BLS certified and feel this would be great in my home for my child and mom.
Thanks for posting!
Every parent and caregiver should have at least one of those posted around the house.
I have to be both regular CPR certified and Trach CPR certified for Parker. I always stress that in an emergency I would forget what to do.
I’d love to be entered.
And…..have you guys ever thought about having a Special Needs contributor to 5 Minutes For Mom? I’m sure there are a lot of Moms with kids with Special Needs that read your blog.
They could write on what’s new out there, issues facing Mom’s with Special Needs kids, fun things to do to help reach IEP goals, etc.
It would also be a great way to provide an experience base for those who DON’T have a child with Special Needs.
A monthly column could be an excellent advocacy tool. Especially with your readership.
Just a thought. 🙂
This is JUST what I need. I am so excited. My 2 year old daughter has breath holding spells and passes out on me ALL the time. I’m always so scared!
These magnets sound like they would be very useful in an emergency! What a great idea! I’d love to stick one of these on our refrigerator.
Very useful magnets. I would love to win them.
i would love this
Oh, count me in! Thanks! 🙂
I, too, took the CPR class and would be hard pressed to remember in an emergency situation what to do! Please add me to the list!
I took CPR when I was a daycare worker and I know as soon as I walked out the classroom door I forgot everything I learned! I would love to have one of these magnets on my refrigerator!
It’s been over 10 years since I took my First Aid/CPR class and although I remember some of it, I’d be lost if I had to use those skills! Enter me, please!
What a great idea! This is information that everyone needs.
Good idea to have magnets with such useful information.
Definitely count me in!
This is a very cool idea! Count me in.
And–you’re right, you are not alone. I have been certified/re-certified for 16 years and I don’t think I would be able to do it in an emergency either.
I’d love to win one of these! I’d definitely need it!
This is a great idea. Pleae put me in the hat.
Oh, I need this! I could really use something like this around with two kids.
This would be wonderful to have in the “just in case” time of our lives. Thank you!
I don’t remember a bit of my CPR training either…this is a great idea Please count me in!

Kimbrah
What a great way to keep such critical info handy!
what a fabulous idea!
This would be wonderful. I have that fear, too, of forgetting what I do know — and I have never had a CPR class, so I don’t know a lot anyway.
2 curious boys – I’ve been very lucky so far but I know it is just a matter of time. Enter me please.
Oh Please, me, me! I have a two year old that puts anything and everything into her mouth!!!! It’s not an If but a WHEN she is going to choke!
Thanks for sharing,
~Lana B.~
