Safety Magnets

Years ago, I took a CPR class for work. I even had a little card in my wallet that said I knew how to perform CPR.

But, if an emergency happened and I suddenly had to recall that information from the recesses of my brain, I would be in trouble. I am sure panic would take over and I would completely forget what to do.

And I know I am not alone!

In fact, this is the very reason two Arizona moms, Chris Stevens and Melissa Weisberg, developed, Safety Magnets.

While there is an abundance of first aid information on the web, in books, and from other resources, in an emergency, you need help fast. When an emergency happens, most people don’t have time to find that often misplaced first aid book. What you need is a convenient source of accurate information that everyone in the household can easily locate in an emergency. What better place for that information than a magnet on your refrigerator or inside your medicine cabinet?

Safety Magnets are 5″ x 7″ refrigerator magnets that list first aid steps on what to do in common medical emergencies. They are available in 5 different magnets:

  • Child CPR
  • Infant CPR
  • Infant Choking
  • Infant / Child / Adult Choking
  • Poisoning / Burns

As well, Safety Magnets come in a fantastic 8 1/2 x 11″ magnetic memo board with safety steps for:

  • Infant CPR
  • Child CPR
  • Iinfant / Child / Adult Choking

This version has a write-on/wipe-off wet-erase marker with a convenient area to write your important and emergency phone numbers.

Safety Magnets are designed with fund raising and company promotion in mind.

These unique magnets are the perfect way to raise money for school, teams, church trips etc. No more fattening chocolates or cookie dough to sell – instead your fundrasing can be centered around a healthy, life saving product.

And instead of putting your company logo on a calendar or notepad, you can use Safety Magnets to continually keep your name at the forefront of your customers minds.

I personally love the Magnetic Memo Board which includes Infant CPR, Child CPR, Infant / Child / Adult Choking and a spot for emergency numbers. If I am out and my babysitter needs emergency information quickly, this is what I want on my fridge.

  4. Peter Weisberg, President Safety Magnets says:

The number at one time was correct for Poison Control but unbeknownst to us, they changed the number. (In fact, the old number 888-222-1212 is still unfortunately found on many prominient web sites.) We have since taken the number off all of our products and replaced it with Call 911 and we have informed the National Poison Control Center that their old number is still out there. We have also alerted as many customers as we can with this information. Pete

  5. Don’t know if you know this or not, but the phone number that is for poison control on these magnets takes you to an inappropriate hotline. My friend learned then when trying to call poison control for something her son got into. This could have turned into a disaster. Just thought you’d want to know.

Oh, that would be so handy to have around the house. I’m a single mother who works full time. Sometimes I have no choice but to leave my 14 year old to help me look after her two younger siblings for a few minutes, while I finish up work and of course, when I am doing many household chores. Although my eldest is very responsible, indeed, she as well as I, would love to have these medical safety reminders in case if one of my younger children are in any harm or danger. These safety magnets will be very convenient and life-saving in times of emergencies. We all know how it is when we encounter dilemmas like this. We tend to get nervous, anxious, rattled and far from being focused due to not knowing what to do. We need something handy.

This is very helpful for me since I have a 3-month old baby boy. Doing CPR is life-saving.

  199. A must have and hope to win. 😉 Thanks

  204. Tammy and Parker says:

I have to be both regular CPR certified and Trach CPR certified for Parker. I always stress that in an emergency I would forget what to do.

    I’d love to be entered.

And…..have you guys ever thought about having a Special Needs contributor to 5 Minutes For Mom? I’m sure there are a lot of Moms with kids with Special Needs that read your blog.

They could write on what’s new out there, issues facing Mom’s with Special Needs kids, fun things to do to help reach IEP goals, etc.

It would also be a great way to provide an experience base for those who DON’T have a child with Special Needs.

A monthly column could be an excellent advocacy tool. Especially with your readership.

    Just a thought. 🙂

  205. This is JUST what I need. I am so excited. My 2 year old daughter has breath holding spells and passes out on me ALL the time. I’m always so scared!
