October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month so you tend to see pink everywhere you look. Pink ribbons on blogs and avatars. People are “racing for a cure” and even Sports Illustrated ‘went pink’ this month!
Well, if you tune in to “The Martha Stewart Show” Friday, October 16th, you’ll be seeing a lot more pink!!!
Tomorrow the Queen of Homemaking will be joined by a very special audience full of Breast Cancer survivors and supporters as she devotes the entire show to Breast Cancer Awareness!
Ford’s Warriors in Pink is teaming up with Martha to share with us how to reduce the risk of Breast Cancer (with special guest Dr. Dara Richardson-Heron), along with some delicious cancer-fighting recipes. They will also be unveiling a new limited-edition breast cancer stamp set featuring Ford’s “Symbols of a Warrior”!!!
You can watch a preview of tomorrow’s show HERE. You’ll notice in the preview that the entire audience is wearing pink, of course, but you may not have noticed the amazing scarf they are all wearing. I had a Mother who died of colon cancer, and a sister who had colon cancer, but is because of early finding is now cancer free, Praise the Lord, and I have another sister who had breast cancer and had to have both breast removed, so I am living and always trying to find ways to help prevent cancer.

Who among us has not been touched by this horrible disease? My individual struggle has been with endometrial cancer but I have friends who have been diagnosed. Some survived some didnot.
It’s such a good thing that we recognize October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Although a lot of progress has been made in prevention, treatment and research, when you have a loved on who is diagnosed, you realize there is so much more progress to be made. It is amazing to see how many people become “pink” in the month of October. Cancer is a disease that deserves not only attention for the month of October, but every day, of every month, of every year, until a cure is found!
