When I was a teenager, I could not wait to go back to school shopping for clothes. I wasn’t much of a fashionista, but I did love to get new shoes and clothes. Back in the day (am I showing my age yet or what), my mom did not spend a lot on clothes. I basically got to get one new pair of shoes, one new pair of pants, and about 3 new shirts. Clothing was a little more expensive, so we had to really watch what we spent. If we would have had places like Target back then, things could have been a lot different.

Cute kids with stylish clothes are everywhere, but Target believes the best kids’ style comes from real kids. The back-to-school campaign this year celebrates kids’ style, from including real kids in the ads to encouraging parents to share how their kids are rocking their own unique style.

From now through August 12th, just Instagram @Target  and use the hashtag #KidsGotStyle with a picture of how your child expresses their style. A Target stylist will use select photos as inspiration to create a custom Stylagram mood board of colors, fashion items and supplies inspired by kids’ unique style, perfect for back-to-school!

  11. Hmm I don’t have kiddos so I’d get the card all to myself! I could buy some really cute sundresses (I haven’t purchased a new one this year yet) and some matching shoes or sandals. And I need some socks.

  31. My favorite back to school item is Li’l Empress’s Hello Kitty sneakers that she scored on clearance with her b’day money. So.CUTE. and sparkly and shiny. Just what every 6 year old wants for school 🙂

  63. Hoodies – in September it is always cold in the mornings and gets very hot during the day, so starting with a snuggly hoody that can be taken off is very practical…

  102. Unfortunately, we don’t get to wear what we want for school. But, to answer the question (ha!), for my son my favorite piece of clothing are polo shirts. He wears them daily and they get so much use throughout the school year. Target ones stay nice the longest and I love them!

  239. My son is going into 1st grade this year. Last year, I bought all kinds of stuff. This year, I hit the sales and got shorts, t-shirts, and a couple of short sleeve button down shirts. I think the button downs are my favorite to get for him. They are a little bit dressy, but still casual. And the important part is that my son likes to wear them.
