There’s been a lot of talk about BlogHer 09… just take a look here at this list of posts from our readers.
But on the last night of BlogHer 09, we stopped some gals and asked them…
Why did you come to BlogHer 09?
Was it what you expected?
What’s the best and the worst parts of BlogHer?
And guess what… NONE of these women even mentioned ANY drama!!!
The funny thing is I never noticed ANY drama while I was at BlogHer09 and I think lots of the women I talked to there felt the same way. The drama mostly came afterward as tweets and blog posts spread a few negative stories back and forth.
Straight from the BlogHers mouths…
Thanks to our SponsorsAgain we want to shout out our sincere thanks to the very stylish Kmart Design for sponsoring these video interviews so that we can bring the BlogHer 09 experience home to you. |
But what do YOU think???
Did you go to BlogHer 09?
(If you did, why did you go, was it what you expected and what did and didn’t you like?)
Are you going to go to BlogHer10?
Leave us a comment and let us know.

I went to BlogHer and had a wonderful time!
I got to meet all the bloggers I have become friends with online (which was awesome), I got to party like a Blog Star (which I never get to do being a mom of 3 young girls) and I learned things from the sessions I attended. BlogHer was extremely overwhelming because of the size of the event, but so worth it depending on your intentions and expectations.
I too never saw the drama…only heard about it, so I was unaffected by it.

I didn't notice the drama.
I LOVED BlogHer09
I am DEFINITELY going to BlogHer10.. it's on my birthday. in. New York. How could I not?
Now, I just have to find someone to pay for it 😉

I didn't go and I Don't want to go! 🙂
I think it's ridiculously expensive. Yes, I would LOVE to meet more mom bloggers, especially the ones I've really became friends with over blogging, but I would rather have a fun get together for FREE! I don't think it's worth the hundreds of dollors that it cost for the conference, hotel, etc.

I thought it was great! I wrote about my experience here: http://www.phdinparenting.com/2009/07/27/bloghe…

Having been to hundreds of conferences (with my old job, not BlogHer) I can attest to the fact that there is always a discontented crowd.
Think about it — lots of hype and expectations, lots of crowds, delays, expensive food, stress from being away from family life. It doesn't bring out the best feelings in a lot of people.
C'est la vie!

I didn't go to BlogHer 09, but I am already scheduled to go to NY next year. I am not a high drama kind of person, so I think I'll stay far away form it and just enjoy meeting friends and taking classes.

I did go and had a blast! I mentioned on Facebook a while ago (to you, I think) that I was going to have fun no matter what. It is my experience and I chose to make it fun and positive! I was SO excited to get to see many of my friends again!!
And, the least fave part was not getting to hang w/ you two – and many others! There just isn't enough time to get to meet and talk to everyone you share with online! Next year….I will so be there and can always look forward to that (and Blissdom).

i have never been to blogher or any confrence, I probably will never go to one. I'd rather spend the money on my family. Plus blogher was so big and crowded, some people didn't see the drama. but thousands of women and not enough free stuff for all of them, there is going to be problems. people say that is the only reason they go(free stuff). even before blogher there were a lot of immature stuff being said about people on blogs.

I haven't been to a BlogHer conference but plan to go next year.
This is a very helpful post. Thanks!
