This is Susan here taking a moment to join Judi (aka Preemie Mommy) from Mommy of Two in a little weekend reflection.
But before I begin, I’d like to ask you all to say some extra prayers for her little trooper Grayson. On Friday, he had surgery to remove two very severe hemangiomas. The surgery went well, but he’s had a rough time recovering due to extra complications of what seems to be a virus. From Judi’s updates on her carepages (Care Page Name : GraysonLedford), it sounds like they should be getting home from the hospital this evening. But Grayson still needs prayers for his recovery.
You can see Grayson’s picture on our Faith Lifts page — Faithful Prayers for Our Children, and also read about other little ones who need extra prayer. If you know of a child with on-going health issues who should be added to the list, please let us know.
Prayer is such an amazing gift and God is so faithful… Read about how God answered prayers for Emma this week.
Even during this difficult weekend, Judi took the time to count some of her blessings this week.
If you’d like to share some of your little blessings, add your name to the list at Mommy of Two.
A few treats from my week:
- Girls Night Out.
I went out for dinner with some girlfriends. This is extremely rare for me as Julia refuses to go to sleep without me putting her down and then once she has gone down, she likes to wake up and ensure that I have not left the house. So I left her with both Grandma and Daddy, but still I had to be called home early because she wouldn’t eat or sleep and insisted on screaming non-stop for me.
But at least I did get to go out for a couple hours and enjoy dinner (even if it was rushed).
- Julia conquered her fear of swings.
She now seems quite happy to swing at the park, but prefers it if there is another child in the swing next to her to remind her that swinging is an appropriate thing for a child to do. - Jackson had his first private “Ready To Read” tutoring session and loved it.
(Jackson is Janice’s 4yr old, but I love him like my own.) He has been able to read letters and little words for a while now, but since he’s a January baby he is too young to be in the “Ready To Read” class, so the teacher suggested he have a private teacher. We were really nervous to see how he’d behave and how he’d like it. Apparently, he loves it!
I hope you had a wonderful week too… remember to stop by and add your Weekend Reflection list.
Also remember to join Heather for Faith Lifts’ Monday Meme – Faith Builders You can either share a post about the theme “Purpose” or you can answer the discussion questions that Heather includes in her post, which should go up this evening.
And, since Monday is such a busy blogging day… you can also enjoy all the fantastic posts at the Carnival of Family Life.
This week it is hosted at The Pink Diary.
Although… since there were two massive earthquakes off the coast of Hawaii where Kailani lives and her power is currently out… I’m thinking she might be late getting the carnival posted. But check over there tomorrow to see.
