Like most moms, I struggle to try to pick “one” memory that stands out as my MOST meaningful moment from the last year. Motherhood is full of meaningful moments. But if I release myself from the perfectionist fear of not picking the right moment as the best, one comes to my mind…
Watching My Girls Climb The Wall
I’ve never rock climbed – indoors or outdoors – and at this point in my life I’m not sure you’ll ever catch me climbing a rock wall. I’m afraid of heights.
But this year my 6 year old Julia faced her fears and climbed a good distance up the rocking climbing wall at the YMCA. Watching her face a fear head-on made me so proud of her and happy for her.
Julie is small and sometimes seems a little shy at first, but watch out… That girl is going places.
Even my little, ever-so-tiny 4 year old Sophia got strapped in and climbed a few steps.
They are facing the fears and challenges that life throws at them and rising above. I’m amazed by the opportunities they have in life and how they are becoming such wonderful girls who are going to live fulfilled and fantastic lives.
I’m so thankful to be their mom and to witness their growth.
