I am Canadian, but since I’ve worked online for the last 12 years, my holidays have become more centred around American holidays than Canadian ones.
I feel as close to my American friends as my Canadian friends.
And I’m as thankful to the brave Americans who gave their lives to protect freedom as I am to the Canadians.
Although I’m proud to be Canadian, and I adore our leader Justin Trudeau, I feel like Canada and America are deeply connected… like siblings.
We have the same dreams and the same fears. We value freedom and the brave among us defend it to the death.
So this Memorial Day weekend, I am spending time remembering and thanking those brave Americans who gave their lives to protect the freedom of us all.
Thank you to the families who lost their loved ones. We are all in your debt… even those of us across your northern border.
