The ultimate playground is a snow covered mountain.
Nothing beats playing in the snow as you catch snowflakes on your tongue.
UPDATE: To celebrate BC’s Family Day, Monday Feb 13th, the Sea to Sky Gondola will offer tickets at half-price all weekend – Feb 11 through Feb 13th. At the peak you’ll enjoy live music, face-painting, and an outdoor bonfire complete with s’mores to ring in Family Day weekend.
Since we live in Canada, you may think my kids have days after days to play in the snow. But they don’t. We’re in the Pacific Northwest… in a suburb of Vancouver, British Columbia. If you’re not familiar with the area, just think of Seattle.
Last year we had only a few flakes of snow, but we discovered the Sea to Sky Gondola and the girls had the time of their lives playing in the snow.
So this year, we bundled up and headed up the mountain for a day of fun in some seriously deep snow.
The sky wasn’t blue and picturesque as it was last year, but the snow was falling and the girls had their best snow day ever!
Take a look at the stunning scene last year…
My girls don’t get to play in the snow often enough. So they truly appreciate a day in the mountains.
Take a look…
If you live in Vancouver or the surrounding suburbs — or if you’re visiting — you’ll absolutely want to take a day trip to Squamish and ride up the Sea To Sky Gondola and spend the afternoon playing in the snow.
If you and your kids want a thrill, you can tube down a huge hill or you can rent snowshoes and go hiking.
A family ticket (2 adults and 2 children/youth) is $99.95 and children 5 and under are free.
So for your next family adventure, head to Squamish.
On a clear day, you’ll see stunning views of the Howe Sound fjord as well as the all the mountains and beautiful coastal forests.
If the snow is falling, as it was for our recent trip, you and your kids will have the most fabulous time playing in endless powder snow.
So grab your kids and go play in the snow!!!
Disclosure: We received passes for the Sea to Sky Gondola to prepare this post.
