This vacuum is incredible. My grandmother loved her Oreck. She said it was the lightest vacuum she ever owned. She is no longer able to vacuum. A radical mastectomy left her weak and the radiation made her too ill. Here is to breast cancer survivors around the world. May we find a cure…soon.

As a person who raised money for breast cancer since before I even knew what it was (my neighbor talked the kids in the neighborhood to go door to door asking for donations – she later died of breast cancer) I would love to have this vacuum. First – I’m sorry the loss of your neighbor Sharon. It’s so hard any time someone close to your heart is lost before their time to something as destructive as Cancer. I lost my Great Aunt several years ago to Breast Cancer and it really was devastating. Anyway – I think what your doing is great. All these sites are creating a lot more awareness (I know I’ve learned a few things!) and there’s really nothing better than that. My family has had a pretty persistent history with breast cancer — my step-mom being the most recent to go through it (she is doing well!). Because of this, my husband and I do everything we can financially do to support breast cancer awareness! This vacuum must be the most unique way I’ve ever seen a support of breast cancer awareness! I think it’s absolutely GREAT that Oreck is contributing so much money to finding the Cure! I have two friends who’ve had breast cancer, one my brother’s wife, who died of it (and left me as a surrogate mom to her daughter, Sarah) and another who’s an amazing free spirit but had a double masectomy. It seems amazing to look forward to a time when neither of these things would have to happen! And of course we never know when it might happen to any one of US.

My family has been very fortunate to not have had anyone to fall victim to this dreaded disease. However most of us know somebody or know somebody that knows somebody and so on. I have a daughter and a granddaughter, and it is my wish that cancer will be cured in their lifetime.

My mother in law and best friend both had breast cancer about 6 months after hip replacement surgery. Both of them have survived and support breast cancer victims. It has been 19 years of being cancer free for my mother-in-law. To win a new vacume would be great! To find a cure would be incredible!

I used to use an Oreck XL when I was a hotel maid about 25 years ago. They were super lightweight and after cleaning about 10 upstairs rooms, I was EVER SO GRATEFUL!

My mother had a scare while I was still in high school. Thankfully for her it was nothing- but for so many other mothers it’s not just a scare.
She also has one of the older models of the Oreck XL’s. There have been times while she is gone on vacation I’ll go and snag it from her house to use. They are awesome- and now one in Pink- Woo hoo!!!

Wow, this would be such a big blessing to our family! Our 2 daughters and me are quite allergic to dust. I have what I thought was a good vacuum but it isn’t that old and already blows dust and debrea out of it (giving me more to clean up). The doctor said I needed to keep our house as dust free as possible, I thought bagless would help. It’s terrible! The dirt and dust goes everywhere when I empty the container leaving me ithy and sneezing! I have my daughters leave the room when I vacuum and I often wear a mask so I limit exposure to the dust. Unfortunately, I am a WAHM and we can’t really afford a wonderful vacuum like this, so I make do. Pink is perfect, my aunt is a survivor and my girls love pink!

I am 32yrs old, a mother of four, AND a 2 year cancer survivor – this month!
I had a goal the beginning of this year to participate in my first 5k this year. Well, just the past Sat. Oct. 11th I was a 5K participant in the Susan Komen Race for the Cure in Knoxville, TN. It was an amazing experience. One I am blessed and thankful to have been a part of.
Practically speaking, we do have need of a new vac and this would be a very special contest to win being a cancer survivor, wife, mother – Vac would kind of become another “walk of celebration” 😀

This is really an awesome prize. Kudos to Oreck for supporting such a worthwhile cause. Sadly my father passed away in June. He hurt his back in Dec last year and for the next few months I had to take him for x-rays. At Christmas time I didn’t think too much of the Tree in the waiting room with white and pink bows. In April I was curious though and got a closer look, the bows had names on them. I asked about it and found that the pink bows represented breast cancer survivors and the white ones were ladies that didn’t make it. After that on each trip I read more names. It’s shocking. God bless all who have been touched by this disease.

My Grandmother got breast cancer and had to have a mastectomy. It tuned into lung cancer and killed her.

This is a whopper of a prize! I’ve never owned one before but have heard very good things about them. I also like that there is an Oreck store by the mall, so when if it ever needed serviced, it’s as simple as just taking it in.

I had an Oreck vacuum in my former residence. It was the best vacuum I ever had: lightweight, great suction and with the light in front you could clean in the dark. Now, I have a built-in vacuum and I am not happy with it, so I would really be happy to win the Oreck.

I hope all woman have a breast exam yearly and they should do a self check monthly to catch any problems early. My grandmother had breast cancer so all the females in my family are very aware of the need to catch any problem as soon as possible. One of my best friends died of breast cancer in Nov 89. This was before awareness of this disease and prevention was as avidly promoted as it is today. I thank God for the vast communication and education available today. This is an awesome prize for commemorating and this Special Edition vac will be a reminder for years to come.

Saw this competition and couldn’t lose the opportunity. I have had cancer twice, cervical and colon and both of them were caught early and surgically cured and so I have made it my mission not to miss the opportunity to tell people that their first line of defense against cancer is themselves. Because I religiously had my pap smears and fecal smears my cancers were caught early when they were ammenable to surgical intervention. Never, never, never miss a scheduled breast self exam or yearly mammagram, a yearly pap smear, a yearly fecal smear, a yearly testicular self exam (if you have sons remind them and if they don’t know how have them ask their school’s sports coaches or their doctor-this type of cancer if especially prevalent in young men. Finally never ignore any unusual symptom even if it doesn’t seem too bad to you. There are cancers which are not ammenable to screening and as I said you are the first line of defense against these. Even now I still have pap smears because although I no longer have a cervex vaginal cancer is a possibility. Cancer is sneaky and don’t let it catch you unawares.

Ya know I thought switching to dumping a canister would be better then having a bag, WRONG! that is one nasty task, almost as bad as when I had a cat and had to do litter box duty! GROSS! I want to switch back to a bag vacuum! and my vacuum days only a year or so with two dogs and nieces and nephews and a huge family!

My current vacuum is on it’s last leg. The fan belt keeps slipping off which requires much fanfare and explectives from my husband. I’ve always wanted an Oreck. Pink is my favorite color. I don’t know of anyone who doesn’t know someone who has been touched by breast cancer. In my case, it was my sister…but they also found two other cancers (colon and lung). She had surgeries and radiation/chemo but it was all just too much for her body and she had a seizure and died. I am glad to know that there are companies like Oreck sponoring Breast cancer awareness and research. And they do make a good product which any of us would love to have “in pink”.

First of all my oldest daughter-45-had rectal cancer last year. After the operation and 3 additional hospital visits it was found out that her recurperation, which was longer, was caused by a piece of gauze that had “fallen in” a hole that was made in her buttocks. She had a horrible time making anyone at the hospital believe her, because they said it would show up in the ct scans-just goes to show they don’t know everything. It was when she mentioned it to the person who was in charge of giving her “hyper barrick” treatments–put in a full size coffin like contraption and oxygen is put in, that this person got on the ball and the problem was taken care of. She in the mean time, lost her job, credit and god knows what all because a hospital and the doctors made a mistake–is she suing, as far as I know, you bet.
Now as far as the contest goes, 4 yrs. ago I purchased a Dyson, thinking at my age 63 at the time it would be the last vaccum I bought. I loved it so much I even wrote the company–ha ha the jokes on me, it is wearing out and I certainly would like to win this new vaccum, not only to see if all these years of watching the ads I should have gotten one years ago–I noticed before she dies my mother-in-law had 2 of them, but I never tried them out.

I really think it is great that somany companies are “thinking Pink” this month. Together we will find a cure for breast cancer.
We have a real problem with buying a cheap (<$100) vacuum every couple of years instead of ponying up for a real one. This would solve that for us!
We got our current vac over ten years ago from a friend who was getting a new on; so it was already used…thank God it has lasted this long. What a beautiful new vac. I would love to own this one and as a reminder to pray for all those suffering w/cancer. We have had too many friends and family die from this terrible disease. Sign me up! Thanks!

I’m sorry to hear about the loss of your friend – my mother-in-law died of cancer 10 years ago when she was 53 – every happy event since, our wedding, the birth of three grandchildren, the wedding of her oldest grandchild – has had a tinge of sadness because she wasn’t there to witness it – my heart goes out to her children and family.

It is so great and amazing that so many companies are getting involved with breast cancer research and awareness! Breast cancer is devistating and effects so many people we love. My husband’s aunt had and fought breast cancer. I have so much respect for her and all the other women that have to go through that undescribable pain. They fight so strong to beat it and are still able to keep their will power up and their spirits higher than imaginable. I would love to win a new Oreck vac, but what I would love so much more than that is for more and more companies and people to become involved in, and in support of, breast cancer research and awareness. If we can find a cure, we would all win!

I lost my mom a few years ago when she was only 48 to breast cancer. It’s hard but I try and do everything I can to help with the cure for breast cancer! I love buying and supporting companies that donate to this cause. And of course this vaccuum looks amazing and would do wonders in my house!
