I am in the midst of planning my Easter dinner. Even though it is usually just my husband and two kids, I still like to make them a meal fit for a king during the holidays (since I fail miserably at it during the normal days of the year).
Every year we always have a big spiral ham. I love the ones that come with the crunchy topping pack. It caramelizes atop the ham and creates this succulent taste that will make your mouth water for more.
We don’t ever eat the entire ham, so I am always on the lookout for new recipes to try that keeps ham as the main ingredient. Thanks to The National Pork Board this year, I have plenty of new ones to try!
This spring, the National Pork Board brings a dose of sophistication to the must-have Easter ham with surprisingly simple recipes and tips.
- Ham and Brie Baguettes: For a French-inspired lunch, cut open a baguette and fill it with sliced ham, creamy Brie, mixed greens, and a mixture of honey and Dijon mustard.
- Ham Reuben: Make your ham sandwich corner-deli style! Combine sliced ham, Swiss cheese, and sauerkraut on rye bread. Try grilling it for a flavorful twist on this classic.
- Ham, Cheddar, and Chutney Quesadillas: For a new take on ham and cheese, fill a quesadilla with sliced ham, shredded Cheddar, and store-bought chutney and heat through until cheddar is melted.

My favorite part of Easter dinner was having everyone there enjoying good food.
My family does RC and Greek Easter, with ham and then lamb.
I liked Easter egg hunt in our neighborhood with nice prizes.
Im liked all our extended family together and presents from them!
Of course our own Easter hunt! With maps and treasures hidden all over the yard.
Just getting together for the holiday is enough for me.
Easter was allway’s a good time at our home, good food & great egg hunts = (fun)
My aunt and uncle hosted an Easter Egg hunt every year. It was so much fun!
Growing up we didn’t usually have Easter baskets…but I remember one year, we kids woke up one Easter Morning and at the breakfast table were huge filled baskets for each of us! Wow, we were so excited…especially when mom allowed us to eat candy for our breakfast! 😀
I remember washing dishes with my grandma after Easter dinner. We always had such great conversations then!
Being with my family for Easter is always a good memory.
I remember along time ago, when the children were younger, I decided to hide money in their plastic eggs for the annual Easter egg hunt. We had to have it indoors also because of snow & cold still outside. I never saw kids tear up a house so fast trying to find those eggs!
Best time’s I had as a child was good Easter ham, and a egg hunt that followed.
Some years we were in Wisconsin with extended family, and some years it was just us in Michigan. But I love the smells of cooking wafting through the house. Anticipation, tickling your nose!
Oh it was two years ago when my 1st grandson was born just before Easter. Was such a blessing! Had the BEST Easter. 🙂
My favorite memory is actually easter at my best friends house when I was 14. Her parents went all out for all of us with easter baskets and such. My mom didn’t believe in candy so i was loving it!
Since we’ve been married and had kids my in-laws come up to us for Easter. We usually go out to eat somewhere (with my parents too) and it’s fun to have the whole family together!
My favorite EAster dinner memory is helping my grandmother fix dinner and then heading into the kids’ table with all my cousins.
Lots of fun memories of my family all together, even pinatas just for fun. We always have ham though…it’s just tradition!
My best memories are the Easter egg hunts we would all way’s go to.
We always had a huge family feast with lot’s of food and the whole family was there.
My mother use to buy these pastel mints that you cannot find any longer. They were the size of the bite size peppermint patties.
having my great grandmother cook was a best Easter memory!
We didn’t always do a big Easter dinner growing up, so my favorite memory was went I went to college and cooked my very first Easter ham. It was delicious! (And so were the next several weeks of leftovers!)
We bought our first home about 2 1/2 years ago, so having our 1st family Easter dinner is my favorite memory. We had all of our brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews and cousins over and had an Easter egg hunt after dinner. It was great!
My favorite Easter memories are always the ones I spent at my mom’s house. We rotate holidays now but she always made the best ham glaze.
My favorite Easter dinner memory is traveling to West Virginia to my grandmother’s and she would make an elaborate, home cooked meal!
My favorite Easter dinner memory is helping my great grandmother in the kitchen.
We’ve had Easter on my husbands or daughters birthday every couple years, so those are the great memories. Having easter baskets and a birthday party on the same day.
My favorite memories of Easter Dinner are trying to hurry so we could go out and play.
