Animals in Underwear ABC and Doggy Kisses 123 are formatted as simple concept books, with Parr’s signature fun. The titles are perfectly straightforward– you get a different animal decked in a brightly colored pair of underpants for each letter of the alphabet. (Except for that stubborn zebra whose own stripes are enough pattern for him, perhaps!) Especially fun are the pages that flip up, revealing two additional animals under the flap, helping to fit in the whole alphabet without making the book too thick for little hands to hold. In the number book, babies and toddlers who have dogs in their own families will surely giggle with recognition at the abundance of kisses– cuddly, slobbery, and playful among them.
