The holidays were always a big deal in my family. I remember how my Grandma use to decorate every inch of her house it seemed.
But my favorite piece was always her snow globes. That was where my love for them began and now I love that it’s something I can share with my son. So when I was asked to review the Things Remembered 2012 Make-A-Wish Polar Bear Water Globe I was excited as I knew it’d be a great fit for my growing collection.
The first thing I noticed upon receiving my water globe, was the story of how Things Remembered started their commitment to Make-A-Wish:
It began in 1997 when a child named Elysia wanted to give her loved ones personalized gifts so they would always remember her. What began with her wish has grown into an annual program that has raised more than $6 million dollars
I thought this was such a touching story and so glad I get to be a part of it and help spread the word on it. What I loved even more was finding out that for every purchase of this Make-A-Wish collectible, Things Remembered will donate $2 to Make-A-Wish. So not only does my family get a unique and personalized collectible but I get to help out a great cause at the same time.
After reading the box I just had to take it out and see what music it played. Those are my favorites as my Grandma and I use to wind hers up and dance together to the songs, I still do this today with my own son. I really liked that the song name was stamped on the bottom of the globe.
This globe’s song is “Born Free†written by Don Black and John Barry. It’s a very beautiful song:
After having it in my home for a few weeks I don’t think there is anything I didn’t like about this product. It’s well made, was well protected in shipping, and I even received it promptly.
