Operation Christmas Child
What a perfect way to get in the spirit of the Christmas season – Operation Christmas Child with Samaritan’s Purse. If you haven’t heard of this wonderful project, make sure you check out their website. Through a gift filled shoe box, you and your family can affect the life of a child somewhere in the world while sharing a wonderful experience of giving with your own family. National Collection week is November 13-18, so you still have time to grab a shoe box and go shopping! Here is our box, ready and waiting. |

And here it is (almost) ready to go. Jackson was quite concerned with my arrangement for the photo and kept worrying that it wasn’t all going to fit in the box. I assured him that this was just for show and that I would be able to fit it in properly when I finished taking a picture. |

hey love the idea. i’ve got too much to tackle, starting with a tackle it tuesday post:)
however, I’ve got one up and running!
We just did this! And this year we got a great idea from Mary Haven at Homesteeped Hope and we bought PLASTIC shoe boxes. We added Christmas sticker decorations to the boxes and now they’ll have a lasting place to keep all of their stuff!
What a great tackling!! I finally finished mine. Thanks for the inspiration:D
Had fun with my tackling job! Thanks for the encouraging idea!
I love this idea. I can’t wait to fill my shoebox. I know the kids are excited to participate in this.
Thanks so much for posting this idea. I’ve been looking for something to do with the kids this year to show them the true meaning of Christmas.
Thanks to you, I think I’ve found what I’ve been looking for!
It’s an awesome project that we too do every year! Great learning experience for everyone – this year Aubrey asked to do her own – so she’s using her allowence to pay for the items going into her box (that was VERY important to her) – I gotta them them all finished and ready to mail when she returns home tomorrow! GREAT TACKLE!!!
Very organized looking. Put’s me to shame. I haven’t completed my TIT project(s) yet but will be working. Thanks !
We do this every year with our kids…we always pick a girl, of course, since they can more identify with picking out girly gifts.
Ours is about ready to go to Awana tomorrow! 🙂
A great tackle. I love the shoe boxes from Samaritan’s Purse. :0) It’s one of my favourite relief organizations. We haven’t done shoe boxes for a little while but will either do one in the near future or next year. We’ll let our girls do one up for another girl their age. How fun!!!
What a great project, thanks for the heads on it. Sounds like something we would enjoy doing over here. What a fun tackle.
Great project! I did this same one a couple of weeks ago…feels great doesn’t it! Have a wonderful day. Laura
This is a great program. Our church does it everyyear. Dont forget to wrap the box and the lid seperately, because they need to check the contents. We are working on ours as well.
Great Job! May I make you the first link for my post here:

Cute box Janice! Love the hat! We need to do ours as well. Time is short – I need to get on it.
This is a wonderful teaching opportunity for the children. They learn so much about giving and how even a small thing is big to another! Great tackle this week!
Ah, such a good idea, but I ‘ve never heard of it over here. Either it doesn’t exist over here or they are very lousy on advertising….
It’s a good tackle – that even others get the good from 🙂
Awesome job Janice!! I need to get mine made and ready to ship as well!
That’s almost like a tackle in reverse! How refreshing to see one box where it’s completely okay to put so many things into it! 😀
Great idea! Here very late for Click and Comment Monday.
Nice tackling ! I were busy on other things !
