Susan says this isn’t much of a Works for Me Wednesday… But I think it is. So here it goes. The other day I saw an ad for Philadelphia Cream Cheese featuring a new cream cheese with a swirl of jam in it. I chuckled because Jackson came up with this combination for his toast when he was three and it is still one of his favorites. When he first suggested it, I thought it was kind of strange. But then I thought, “Well I put raspberry sauce on my cheesecake – so why not?â€
I eat it too – it is sweet and yummy on warm toast. Sorry if it was not the most original idea – but it works for us! For more great “Works for me Wednesday” tips, visit |

In these days of peanut free lunches, I think this is great alternative to the old peanut butter and jam sandwiches. It has some protein and substance and yet is quick and inexpensive.
I started making cream cheese and jelly sandwiches for my son when he was 12 months old. I needed the ease of a PB&J, but am trying to avoid peanut butter with him until he’s a little older. It’s a GREAT solution and he LOVES IT! Definitaly a good WFMW.
I’ve been doing this for years, too. Love it — especially with seedless blackberry jam . . . YUMMY!!! It’s a great idea, not to be pooh-poohed!!
I LOVE mixing jam/preserves with cream cheese…Well, anything goes with cream cheese in my book 🙂
Tell Susan we all think it’s a great idea! Yum! Can’t wait to try it!
I love cream cheese, but I hadn’t thought of substituting it for peanut butter. Great idea!
Cream cheese ‘n’ jelly has always been a favorite of mine. My youngest son will make these for a snack. Frankly, I bet it’s cheaper and better to do it with separate cream cheese and jelly than to buy the ready mixed stuff.
This is all my son will eat. Day in, day out! Great tip!
That is a very tasty idea instead of pb. I love me some pb toast, but this would be a nice treat too.
Oh that is such a great idea, I’m going to try it today LOL
Actually, I’m going to try it right now LOL……
Mine is up too 🙂
YUM! I’m going to try that for myself!!
Mine is up, too…
Great tip!

Sounds Yummy!
I also make this myself for my grandsons using the low fat crm cheese and 100% fruit jam. Yummy! My WFMW is up…
I love this idea!! It is a great alternative to the usual PB&J.
I love this stuff too but hadn’t thought of sending it in place of peanut butter – great idea! (It’s great in cinnamon rolls too – replacing cinnamon and sugar!)
Yum! I’d eat anything with cream cheese on it–especially sweet and fruity!
We love this too. I usually just take a scoop of jam and cream it into the cream cheese with beaters. It’s great on bagels too. 🙂
MMM…yummy! My stomach just growled!
That does sound good. We too have to be creative with peanut butter around here.
Yum! That looks SO good!
That would be yummy on a bagel as well. I love cream cheese!
We love this stuff – peanut allergies in my dd necessitated some creativity here too. 🙂
Yes, it’s yummy. I have tried it before, but I think it’s definitely a WFMW tip that will enlighten someone out there. . . .
