About Reading Progam Level 1

The PCI Reading Program is primarily print-based and includes a variety of lessons, manipulatives, and activity sheets. Each kit also includes a software version of the initial visual discrimination lesson for each word and all of the assessments. Teachers may choose to use either the print or software version of these components, or use both for additional review.

I have been using PCI Reading Level 1 for the past 5 years. My classroom of students with multiple needs has really benefitted from this program. For years the phonics, letter identification and letter sounds did nothing but baffle the students. Now, after having used this program, I would never give it up and I would highly recommend it to all multi-needs primary classes or those with struggling readers.
The best part of this program is the variety of experiences the student get to learn the sight words and the vocabulary builder CD that tests and gives certificates of words known and words that were missed.
    thanks Linda Mokry

I am a homeschool mom with an autistic daughter. With The help of DDD and the Unified School District I have been fortunate to try several of PCI products. It is hard to choose a favorite. All the ones I have tried so far have been very helpful. If I need to choose one now I like The Basic Vocabulary Series 1 & 2. The pictures with the words and the fine motor skill development is great.

Life Skills for non-readers game. I teach awesome “non-readers” (who are now reading!) using the PCI Level 1 and 2 reading program. My students have difficulty in finding educational games that they don’t need an adult to read the directions, explain the rules, and facilitate each move. This would be awesome for their confidence, peer interactions, and independence! My school is a non-for profit private therapeutic facility and any supplemental materials have to be found by our dedicated staff. This would be a neat addition 🙂 Thanks for educating people about the resources for our kiddos. Good luck everyone!

Some parents are doing it hard to send their kids to private schools on the assumption that private school education gives the child an advantage in life. They

may actually welcome changes that would make them feel less guilty if they felt funding changes resulted in improvements to public education.
