Friday, February 12, 2010: A simply amazing day in the city of Vancouver. It was the final day of the 106 day Olympic Torch Run, ending inside B.C. Place Stadium with the opening ceremonies. Thousands came out to see the torch. Here are some of my pictures:
We were privileged to see the Canadian, Russian, Japanese, and Danish curling teams practicing here in New Westminster, an amazing experience. On the day these pictures were taken it was the Canadian Mens Team, the Japanese Men and Woman teams, and the Russian Men and Woman teams all practicing at the same time.

I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to the Family of Georgian Luger Nordar Kumaritashvili who tragically lost his life during a training run on the track at the Whistler Sliding Centre.

That’s so cool. I can’t wait to see these sports because I don’t understand a lot of them. curling has confused me since the last olympics. I watched the biathalon and I think I get it now. The winter games are great to watch. It’s the first time I’m so thoroughly into them. Seems like you have a great vantage point. enjoy it

I’ve always thought curling was a reasonably silly sport. However, Watching it can be interesting considering the tactics that go into it. Sorta like putting shuffle board into the summer olympics 🙂 That being said, I would have loved to see it. The olympics have that special aura that makes anything fun to watch.

How awesome is that! We got rid of cable so no Olympics for us. 🙁 I was so sad to hear of the luger that died.
