What are your favorite things to cook or bake during the holidays? I love to make a cheesy potato casserole, and I like to think that I make a mean green bean casserole as well.
For a long time, I have gotten by using a Pyrex baking collection that I received as a wedding gift. It has served me well. But sometimes, especially around the holidays, I would catch myself longing for a gorgeous bakeware set. Something pretty, sturdy and oven, microwave and dishwasher safe.
Yesterday I received THIS!
Isn’t it gorgeous?!?! It’s the 8 piece Oven Fresh Ceramic Baking Set from Oneida. I may just have looked like a young child at Christmas, when I hurried to open it. I am in love.
This baking set includes:
- 2 1/2 Qt Baking Dish
- 1 1/2 Qt Casserole
- Pie Plate
- 2 – 4 oz. Ramekins w/Lids
So, the baking dish will hold my cheesy potato casserole perfectly. My green bean casserole will look scrumptious in the 1 1/2 quart casserole and if there are any leftovers, I can store them in the ramekins and place them in my refrigerator. Now what to do about that pie plate? I will admit, I have yet to make a pie. Who wants to send me their favorite pie recipe?
Last night I prepared a side dish in the 1 1/2 quart casserole. There was a bit left over, so I placed the lid on and into the fridge it went. This afternoon for lunch, I heated it right back up in the microwave and then you guessed it, right into the dishwasher it went. I love when the things in my life are low-maintenance!
I can’t wait to use my baking set this Christmas, especially because it is so cheery and red, a perfect Christmas color.
We want to jazz up your holiday meals by giving one of you an 8 piece Oven Fresh Ceramic Baking Set from Oneida. Just leave a comment below and let me know what your favorite holiday dish is to prepare. Oh and I am serious about the pie recipe. Feel free to email or leave one in the comments.
This giveaway is part of our Christmas Giveaway 2010 event. If you haven’t already, please be sure to visit our main Christmas Giveaway 2010 post to review our giveaway rules and to find out how to earn additional entries.
This giveaway is open to US shipping addresses and closes on December 4th. Please see our site’s terms and conditions for our complete contest rules.

Such a stunning set! My favorite pie recipe is, without question: Lemon Meringue Pie! It is not a traditional one for this time of year, but it is a hot fave in our family, so its our tradition!
I don’t have a favorite dish anymore, since 4 of my kids were diagnosed with Celiac. So I am trying to come up with new favorites. This set would certainly help me come up with some great new dishes.

Being Puerto Rican, we have various traditional holiday dishes that are not common to the American culture. However, over the years, I’ve been incorporating other dishes such as my husband’s macaroni pie (kind of like mac & cheese) which would be perfect in that baking dish. And the pie plate could be used to make pumpkin cheesecake!

I wish I had a good pie recipe to share with you. Maybe I’ll have to get a copy of my favorite pecan pie recipe and share with you! As far as my favorite holiday dish, I’m not sure I have one. Usually I get asked to take a veggie tray to our family get-togethers so I haven’t had the chance to try different things. I really want to start some traditions this year with food. I absolutely love baking and cooking and this bakeware set is so awesome! Hoping to try new traditions in a pretty red set! 😀

Oh boy, oh boy! This one is right up my alley! I am one of those that DOESN’T mind when her S.O. buys kitchen items for birthdays and Christmas! I really like the red, too .. I love that dishes are getting so colorful; I always have an eclectic mix of bright colors on the table. I think .. actually, I know .. I would definitely use the baking dish for my mac and cheese. I wish I had a pie recipe that I really liked to send, but for pies, I usually go over to Amish country and buy them! LOL!

One of my favorite holiday recipes is pumpkin cheesecake. 🙂 And a pie recipe: I don’t make pies a lot but they’re so easy to throw together especially if you buy premade pie crusts and canned/frozen fruit! You don’t have to make pie in that dish, we only make pumpkin pie at our house but our glass pie pan gets regular use for quiches and we also like to make layered bean dip in it. I love making FUDGE! That’s totally my thing. I also love some wassail or a good ol’ pecan pie.
Here is a good twist on pumpkin pie (I don’t like regular pumpkin pie):
http://find.myrecipes.com/recipes/recipefinder.dyn?action=displayRecipe&recipe_id=10000000364650
And as for the pecan pie:
1- 9 inch pie crust, uncooked
3 eggs
2/3 c sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/3 c butter
1 c corn syrup
1 c pecan halves
Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Prepare pasty. Beat eggs, sugar, salt, butter, and syrup with hand beater. Stir in pecans. Pour into pastry lined pie plate. Bake until set, 40-50 minutes.
SO YUMMY! 🙂
My favorite is Pumpkin bread. Soooo yummy

I love cooking for the holidays. My favorite holiday dish to prepare is the turkey and dressing. About 2 months before Thanksgiving I start looking for a new recipe to try. Food Network and magazines! Sometimes the recipe is very traditional and sometimes a little different. And I always include some variation of fruit and nuts.
This dish set would be perfect for out holiday table 🙂

My favorite thing to make in a casserole dish is Lasagna! It would look super pretty and match this beautiful red cookware perfectly!
On the pie you should try a pumpkin pie since Thanksgiving is coming up. Only I always recommend that you make it with a real pumpkin. Get a small pumpkin- they are called either a sugar pumpkin or pie pumpkin. Cut it in half and place it in your covered casserole dish with a TBSP or two of water and either bake it for 45 minutes or microwave for 10-20minutes until it is soft. Let it cool and then scoop the meat out of the shell. Blend it in a blender into a smooth pumpkin puree. Then you can make it into the pie filling just like you would a can of pumpkin. If you need a recipe for the filling send me an email.
So pretty!
I am required to bring carrot casserole to Thanksgiving. It’s sliced carrots, cream of celery soup, velveeta and french fried onions. Not much to it, but really yummy!
This is a great set!
