HP Pavilion dm1 — Power AND Mobility
I have a very large laptop. It is huge and heavy and its battery lasts barely an hour. Sure it is great when it stays put on my kitchen table, hooked up to a power strip. But you should see me lugging it through airports and conferences. Not fun! And, with very few airplanes having power supplies, I am hooped when it comes to working on long flights.
So, when HP emailed me about testing out their new HP Pavilion dm1 for Mom 2.0 Summit, I was thrilled.
The HP Pavilion dm 1 has the POWER of a notebook with the MOBILITY of a netbook! — JUST what I need!
I have used “minis” before and they just don’t have enough ummph to get the job done for me. I need to run Lightroom, Photoshop Elements, and more when I am working. And I need enough space to store my photos and files too!
The HP Pavilion dm1 with VISION Technology from AMD has a full processor and so, despite its sleek, small size, it has the power of a full size computer.
The dm1 features an 11†display, it weighs just over 3 lbs and is about an inch thin. It also has a built-in webcam, which is essential these days!
The battery life on the dm1 is excellent. It lasts up to 9 hours — and I found I could get about 4-5 hours of hard core usage out of one charge — running Lightroom, Firefox and other programs at the same time.
It also features CoolSense technology that knows if the notebook is on your lap or the countertop and adjusts its temperature accordingly. I love this feature! I often work in bed, next to Olivia while she sleeps. The dm1 stays cool and with its advance design, I don’t have to worry about it overheating. Brilliant!
It doesn’t have a CD/DVD drive, so that is a con if you want to use it play DVDs. I usually rent my movies online and download them anyway, so it isn’t too much of a problem for me. There is also an optional external CD/DVD drive for installing software or Blu-ray drive for watching HD movies.
In all, I am impressed with the dm1. I can easily slip it into my purse and yet still get the power I need to work.

my mom is currently in disability and i attend to san marin high school am a sophmore and she is a single parent. She is forced to pay the bills on her own and always struggles finiancially with paying our bills . Ive been dtrruggling a lot with school with the fact that we dont have a computer at home and it would be a lot of help to our family to recieve one. I stay home to help out with the kids everyday and i cant go to a library .She would use the computer to communicate with teachers since she cant really attend to my school meetings. This would make my life so much easier because I don’t have a laptop and my desk top is a very old model. This would give me so much freedom to use my computer instead of only being able to be stuck in my room to use it plus it would allow me to do more things on it then I can now with a much older one.
I don’t even have a computer. I am a mother with 2 kids, and a part time student. This will help me with school work at home rather than staying late at the library at school. Kids are expensive enough.
It would make my life easier because the computer I have now is pretty messed up and cannot be fixed.

The HP Pavillion dm1 would make my life esier because I have never owned a laptop. I am bound by my desktop . If the power goes out so does the interent! I can not take my work anywhere…I am stuck here in this chair!
Also, I have panic attack when the weather is bad. With the power unplugged..I have no way of checking the weather radar to see when the storms will be over.
With this laptop I could still be online in the worst of weather & have the comfort to see the radar & ease my mind of when it would be over. I coudl be at the park or anywhere & still have interent access!

That would be the best gift ever for me since the computer I had for the last 10 years died on me and I have to use my mothers computer so I can look for work. I would make things so much easier for me and I would finally have a place to store all of my baby girls pictures.

This year has been a hard one for our computers. My 5 year old desktop finally breathed it’s last and I replaced it with a rebuilt one. with less memory and a much smaller hard drive. My grandson’s very expensive laptop also completely quit working and the cost to repair it would have been astronomical so it got trashed. My tiny little netbook is still working but there seems to be a hardware issue there too. This would be such a blessing. To actually have a full size computer that works!! I am working on the computer every day so having one that works well is essential.

This would make my life easier because at the moment I have a plethora of doctor’s appts and I literally spend HOURS every week waiting. Owning this would allow me to use that time productively, as well as eliminate the huge binder of information I also lug around to all these appts – instead, I could scan the items or bookmark the websites instead of printing off information to review with my providers.

My current laptop is 4 or 5 years old and is always overheating when I use it in bed. Unfortunately, the only time I have in my busy schedule to have some fun on the computer is the few minutes that I’m awake and in bed. I’d love a laptop that wouldn’t overheat so often.

After 20 years my Mom has finally stopped procrastinating and decided to go back to school to get her degree in Social Work.

My mom recently got laid off, and she’s finding it difficult to find a job, I figure with a laptop, it’ll be easier, and I can actually help her out. Besides the fact we got into an argument on Mothers Day, and I ended up calling her a b*tch, over something stupid, and we fought, I’d like to apologize to my mother for it, and I’m in a pretty bad position as well, and I’ve love to surprise her with this, and say I’m sorry, and hopefully this and a hug will make up for it.

Wow, this would make my life a lot easier. we have a computer that sometimes works sometimes doesn’t. It just doesn’t have the power or speed (it is getting on in years) and just freezes up. It would make my computer work a lot easier and I would be mobile.
I have been having the exact same problem. My current laptop can do everything that I need it to do, but when it’s off the power strip it just dies so quickly, almost making the fact that it’s a laptop pointless. I would absolutely love this new laptop!

My computer has pretty much bit the dust, so this would make things a lot easier to write papers and do work from home.
We have one old desktop that 3 of us use. I am doing geneology on my dads family and just about the time I finally find someone I have been looking for someone needs the computer for a class or to look up some much needed info. I would no long have to share, could work faster and store my info much quicker and it would be mine, all mine.

Being confined to a cluttered desk in a home office is a real time-waster and frankly, anti-social! I would love to have a laptop for the modbility/protability and the make multi-tasking a viable,.. Never mind just travel and long commutes, I could work in the basement while waiting for the laundry to be done, in the kitchen while preparing a meal and above all win the family room while everyone else does their thing on my husband watches the ballgame.
And since I really don’t like just sitting and watching TV myself (a total time waster!) I would love to be able to work and play and corresppnd opn/at my computer while watching the news r some other Must-See programs. Having a laptop computer would be a real godsend for me!

It would ease my life because the laptop I currently have is only as good as a desktop becasue it does not stay charged so I have to sit by the plug-in. I don’t have any type of laptop, netbook, notebook or even a smartphone that connects to the net but I am on the go a LOT, this would make my life immensely easier because I could capture and share memories as they happen not try to remember them when I get home. I am enjoying my return to student life, I’m learning so many new things and loving the new experiences, however, I’m finding that without of laptop, I’m woefully behind in the times. I am about to start the dissertation portion of my PhD, but because we’ve moved, I have to fly to another state several times to get it done (the proposal, the defense, and working with my counselor). A DM1 would allow me to work both at home and at school on one machine! Saving me time and energy that I could spend with my family!
Having this laptop would make our life easier, just because having a computer of any kind that works would be great! Our desktop died earlier this year, and our laptop has a screen that you have to hold just right with one hand while you use the keyboard with the other hand. That gets old real fast!
This computer would be perfect, so I could give it to my grandson to keep in touch with his wife and family while he is deployed overseas…
IT really would “untether” me from the home office and allow me to use it around the house like in the kitchen reading recipes or on the couch catching up on news and emails at the same time.

This would make my life easier because I’m sure it would make work easier. My laptop is slowing down, need to reboot all the time, etc. I type all day–almost everyday–and fear my laptop isn’t going to last much longer!
Owning a much more modern, speedy, efficient computer would allow me to spend more time completing projects so that I could have more time to spend reading your blogs! I currently work with a pavilion desktop….so I am certain you can understand unless you are too young to remember back that far!

Ooooh so many reasons! I have two kids who are just coming into their computer age. They like being on it, need to learn it, but aren’t very good at it yet. And they ALWAYS screw something up when they’re on mine! I’d love a computer that’s all mine, mine, mine! And I love that it has a webcam. I don’t have one now and I miss it!

My laptop is 5 years old and not fast at all. I feel like I spend so much wasted time waiting for pages to load. The dual-core AMD Fusion processor E350 for fast Web surfing would probably save me boatloads of time.
The HP Pavilion dm1 Laptop would make my life so much easier. I am a baking and pastry student who is also trying to start her own business. Between college loans, gas prices, and start up costs for my bakery, funds for a laptop are low. I currently lug a huge box of recipes to and from class as well as have to dig through it to find ones I need.
With the laptop, I’d be able to input them all on the hard drive and carry just the laptop around! Plus, it’s easier to take around the house with me as I am cleaning and looking after my 3 year old while working on recipes and such.

It would make my life so much easier because I could work and stay connected when I’m on the go. Plus than hubby and I could each have our own computer and not have to argue over the desktop!
We only have one desktop computer and my husband and my 5 year old son take up most of the time on it. The only time I get to get on the computer is when they are asleep or at work or school. I would also love to get back into my writing but I find it is too hard to do when the computer is taken for hours at a time. That is how it would help me out.
This would make life easier because then I could work on my blog and my husband could browse his hunting forum and neither of us would have to twiddle our thumbs waiting for the other!

This would make a wonderful gift for my niece. She has health problems and has had several painful surgeries. She doesn’t have a laptop, and the PC she uses is only accessible when she’s well enough to walk upstairs. I’d really love to give this gift to her, to make her recovery from surgeries, and her convelescences easier. She’s had to deal with these health problems since she was a young teenager, but she has always been very brave.

Our desk top died, and the laptop is in the shop to try & fix some problems, and I have borrowed my MIL’s laptop till ours gets fix, if it can be repaired. Wait-Wait-Wait. Yesterday she said she need her’s back to do her work, and stuff. Not having a computer is like having withdraws from not being able to do my things. Wow where do I start? The HP Pavilion would make my life so much more easy because my current laptop is like 13 years old! and so slow and its very hard to get anything done on it. Oh man this would save me, my laptop is on its final days… the screen is already being held together with electrical tape.. the battery lasts less than an hour, and just last week one of the fans stopped working so it tends to over heat when doing anything really taxing… like watching youtube videos… this computer is on its death bed, i could use a new one

I lug my ten pound Dell aoround between my three jobs and the house. Finsihed raising my son and decided a new single dad beau with six kids (he started late) was the man of my dreams. I could use an assist lightening the load.

Though I fervently wish to win this giveaway, I really don’t intend to use it personally, but give it to my sister who is a grade-school teacher. I would LOVE this laptop to help with my non-profit organization Right now my husband and I are sharing a laptop and trying to get the organization off the ground. We help bereaved families who have lost their children and getting everything in place seems to take most of the day on the computer. If we had 2 we could do double the work for these families! I am so excited at having a chance to win this HP Pavillion dm1 with AMD Vision. I really really really really have a need for the computer, I currently do not have one. Mine died over a year ago and there is no money in the budget for a new one.
My husband is a disable Vet and I became disable 5 years ago. Our income was cut in half. I worked for over 25 years until my body decided it no longer wanted to function properly.
I am currently using my phone to go online but I am limited in what i can do. The screen is very small and my eyesitr is not to good The Internet is my sanity and entertainment. I like to blog and enter giveaways and contests and sweepstakes.

Having to walk to the library (which is 2 miles away) every day just to use the computer is a great hassle. I am missing spending time with my kids and i would love a laptop so i can stay home and be around my kids instead of taking 6+ hours just to go use the computer.

If the universe chose me, this notebook will do me well. My old laptop is dying and will likely be dead soon. Having a new notebook will mean better productivity for me. I can be on top of my deadlines and I can store more video files enough to let me edit and post them accordingly. Add to that the capability to be in touch with my daughter and hubby when I go away to conferences via Skype without the frequent interruption of a laptop that kept turning off on it’s own!

The HP Pavilion dm1Â would make my life easier by allowing me to have a laptop again. Â I lost my laptop (which just so happens to be a HP Pavilion) to my kids in January when their netbook broke. Â Since then I have used an iPad, which has its limitations.

I don’t have a laptop and sometimes I get pretty uncomfortable sitting at the desktop (I know, I probably shouldn’t spend so much time online–but how else could I enter fabulous giveaways such as this one). The notebook would be such a big help to me because I don’t have an iphone. I see others being able to do so much multitasking while they are running around with their kids, and I’m the one that’s bored and feeling the stress of how much I need to do. Then when the kids are finally in bed I get to my huge pile of emails and such to deal with. I could wipe those out all day long, if I had a way to do it. Iphones are expensive and I can’t deal with the tiny keyboard.

We have 5 kids, the oldest 3 are frequently in need of the computer for school work and social wants. This would be a great addition to our busy household.
This would make my life easier because I could take it with me to doctors appointments with my son. He goes constantly, and I find we spend more time waiting to see the doctor than anything. My laptop is very old, I think it turned 6 or 7 years old this year. The mouse pad doesn’t work so I have a mouse plugged into it and some of the keys do not work, so I have a keyboard plugged into it, the battery is dead so it always has to be plugged in…it’s very sad. (not to mention very, very slow…)

The number of ways this would make my life easier is too long to list. I have a desktop. That means I’m stuck at my desk whenever I want to be online or using the computer in some capacity. During the summer, writing posts, connecting online, etc I’m stuck in the house getting this all done. I want to go to a blogging conference this year and would love to have a laptop to be able to take with me. This is just the tip of the iceberg off the top of my head.

My out of warranty laptop fell to the floor and the screen has slowly blacked out. Fixing this is more costly than replacing it so I’ve worked out an economical solution. It works fine when connected to a second monitor which we happened to have. So I have a deskbound laptop and I’d be thrilled to have a portable laptop again.

i have never owned a laptop only an desktop which my current desktop computer is about 10 years old it is a Dell an actual orignal Dell when they first pop up on the market. a laptop would be so much easier for me to get what i need done without distractions of leaving my desktop computer; give an example… working on computer need to go bathroom come back to computer kids or hubby on and can’t get them off so leaves me falling behind on work, another things that happens leave computer to go out and come home to finish working to discover either where i left off was not saved or i have lost the page. with a laptop i can just pick it up and take it with me wherever i go and i mean wherever even if it is the bathroom. what? modern day bathroom reading! then mom’s work is always done on time and i will never lose a job!

My wife is currently using an aging Gateway, with a nice 15 minute battery life. As she does consulting work she currently has to either rely on her printed materials or her phone when mobile, or find an available outlet to plug in to work for any length of time. This would greatly expand her ability to work away from home and/or Starbucks. Seriously her Starbucks work is costing us $$$!!! 🙂

I would to have one these! The most attractive feature for me would be the long battery life. My computer barely lasts one hour when unplugged. The best thing about winning would be having a computer for my kids to use when I need to use mine!

The HP sounds fantastic! It would make staying connected to family from out of the country soooo much easier for mom! She currently has a netbook, its cute, and great for light usage, but she likes to watch Asian Drama’s and video chat and that really weighs down and lags the computer. Oh this would really help out! My husband and I could both have our own laptop, and not worry about whether he needs to take it to work, or I need it when I travel each week.

Hi, I am an orphan advocating, volunteering, homeschooling mission loving mother of 5.( hopefully soon to adopt more) It would be terrific to have one of these for homeschooling. I also love to email info about orphans that need homes and try to raise money fir families trying to adopt. It would be wonderful to be able to do this anywhere. In 2009 my little 2 year was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia. ( a rare life threatening blood disorder) He has been hospitalized 3 times and has had quite a few of appointments, biopsies, aspirations, blood transfusions. We occasionally go back for additional testing. It would be great to have a personal laptop for when he needs his blood drawn. I’d use it to play games or movies. Not all offices have TV’s to distract him. Having movies or games would help both of us with long waits. It would help Having our own own laptop. It was hard not being able to update family, friends and church on our needs and coordinating visitors. It was hard not being able to blog what was going on for days at a time in the dark hospital.
It can be lonely when my son slept not being able to research all the different treatments and being able to email families with the same illnesses would have been great. I told myself that should my little Josiah get hospitalized again, I hope to have a laptop or some way of blogging without having to wait until my hubby comes to the hospital so that I can run home.It would have been nice to skpe and see the my other children at home missing their mom & little brother.
The laptop will also help me on my first volunteer trip to visit orphans in Ethiopia & Uganda with “Visiting Orphans” so that I can update our progress and also chat with family back home. Thank yo for this amazing opportunity. I hope we win. Thanks. Alida w5

I currently lug my work laptop back and forth so I don’t have to fight my daughter over our home computer. Having a mini like this at home (and for travel) would make my life easier by lightening my load during my commute (with an oversized purse, briefcase, gym bag and laptop bag – every little bit helps!) and would make me a hero in my daughter’s eyes to boot. Which might be why I’m so behind in all my reading and writing and other computer stuff. Just writing the bulletin for church once a week becomes an exercise in Extreme Patience and Tolerance for Frustration. I could get a gold medal for THAT if it were a sport.

I’m a homeschoolin momma to 6 boys. The notebook would make things easier for me because i would have my very own computer! I would not have to share. With anyone! No more moved or misplaced files. No more being interupted so someone can work on a paper. It would be mine, all mine!

This would give our family a second computer so I would not have to share. I am a graduate student and all my classes are online. My oldest also has autism and his Dr.’s recommended some programs to put on our computer for him but they are rather large so this would mean I could give him the old one to run his programs on. Also it being smaller and lighter means it would be easier for me to take with me to use as I wait while he is in his many appointments. My current ones battery makes it hard to take with me. 🙂

We currently are using a 10 yr. old computer that is slow and ragged. I hate using it. I hope we can somehow find the money to purchase a new one or win one! My kids have so many projects to do and a new computer would be a helpful solution for us.

I would love to have this for many reasons. The size and the power are the perfect combo! It would make my life easier, b/c I could take my computer WITH me when I’m not at home. HP Pavilion dm1 with VISION Technology from AMD would make my life so much easier by helping me stay connected with my sister back home in Germany ( I am in Vermont ). I would love to win a new laptop. My kids sat on mine and there is a huge crack in the screen now
WoW!! This would be so wonderful because I would send it to my son, who is currently deployed for a year to Afghanistan with the US Army. He only has a tiny netbook and it doesn’t work very well. This would allow him to reach out to all of us here at home. His wife is currently pregnant and we could all skype with each other and tell him how much we love him and miss him.

Hi, I’m a new follower, and I am SO glad I came across your blog!
My mother has been a teacher for the past 20 years. She is a hard-working, endlessly unselfish woman who LOVES her job, and performs her duties with much enthusiasm. The only computer she has had has been a desktop that is seven years old, and having a laptop to prepare her lesson plans as well as for email correspondence with parents, and other teachers would be a HUGE help! She has severe arthritis in both her knees, and she has to walk all the way to the computer lab at the other end of the campus in order to get anything done, and this would be a great help in alleviating her need to walk that far. Above all, her orthopedic doctor has been recommending a knee replacement surgery for both her knees for 2 years now, but she’s been postponing it because she wants to make sure to save up for it, since she only gets paid 10 months of the year – winning this would just make her YEAR!

Having this HP Pavillion dm1 would sooo make my life easier! I have a 7 year old Macbook that has been slowly but surely dying on me. First the DVD drive busted, then the battery went kaput so I have to keep it plugged in, now the fan has decided to go on overdrive anytime I use the computer for more than 5 minutes, so I hear a loud buzzing practically the minute I open the darn thing! The dm1 would make my life easier in many, many ways! First and foremost- a laptop is my lifeline to the world. I have 6 month old twins and a 2 year old, and they basically keep me hostage. I manage to feel somewhat human with being able to stay in touch on FB and twitter- but the laptop we have is old and outdated and dies easily. Not to mention- the whole ‘5 Minutes for Mom thing’ is taken pretty literally around here! I have 5 minutes- IF THAT on a daily basis to jump on the computer- so freezing up, crashing, etc usually takes up that entire 5 minutes. Lastly, the webcam would be great for getting relatives off my back. Haha- well- it would. We live 12 hours from our family and they are constantly begging for pictures and whatnot of the boys. I’m a busy working mom of 3 boys under the age of 6. I have a laptop for work but nothing at home. So each night I lug my work computer home so that I can get online, or so that my boys can use sites like Starfall. I’d love to have a personal laptop for home use because I know it would make my life easier, and my aching back sure would appreciate it too! The HP laptop sounds like the perfect fit for me — I take lots of photos with my boys and would love to download them easier using the laptop’s media card reader. And the webcam has been on my wishlist for a LONG time so that we can stay in better contact with parents, grandparents and cousins who live far away.

I have a computer which I am very thankful for but my son asked me to try to help him get one. When he is with his children we are able to Skype so we can see them since they live out of state if he had a working computer.
Y’all know me, always online. 🙂 With the new baby coming, I’m sure I’ll be doing a lot of work while nursing, and trying to hold both the baby and this huge laptop is going to be a tough job! A smaller machine would be AMAZING!

I would LOVE a laptop. My husband and I looked into getting one a while back, but finances just didn’t work out. I currently run a daycare out of our home and while I am always on the main floor of our house, the desktop is downstairs in the basement. This would if won be a replacement to the laptop that my husband currently uses which is a broke down gimpy netbook running windows xp. it works ok but he likes to play games on line and it takes for ever for them to load on the computer.
I would love to have a laptop for my mother for her birthday this year. She has an ancient Dell desktop model that is giving her fits. She’s turning 71 this year and can’t always spend much time sitting at her desk. She could use this laptop while reclining.

As a busy mom of 5 children I feel like I am constantly on the go. Having a small computer that is easy to take with me, would allow me to keep up on my church and other volunteer responsibilities while I am waiting at dance practice or soccer games.
I recently started my own business and am in desparate need for a laptop or notebook to help with all the paperwork, scheduling, blogging, keeping up to date with all the other glorious business stuffs and marketing, etc. I never win anything but I would so love to win this…so I can really follow my dream and be successful.

I would make my daughter very happy. She is 10, in 5th grade, advanced classes since 3d grade, and has to get by with her mother’s laptop. She cant keep doing that as she hits really advanced classes in middle school.

My business is based online and having busy children this would come in handy. I currently have a desktop that is downstairs in the basement office so I am constantly running up and down the stairs. This would come in very handy for me.

I use our clunky old desktop for EVERYTHING- tv,dvds, music, social networking and more. I don’t have a tv or even a cell phone. And I’m expecting my second baby in a couple of months. I would love love love to be able to watch PBS videos on my bed while feeding the baby, instead of being tied to the living room. Ooh, I could do exercise dvds wherever worked best! I could even check my email and Twitter at Starbucks for a change…

Right now I share my computer with our 5-and-a-half year old son. I use it for blogging and steady freelance work while he uses it for both schoolwork and educational games. He surfs the web with a special browser, but when I let him study Spellquizzer, Jumpstart, or other software, I always have a fear that he is going to delete important files when nobody is paying attention. He knows better, but he is 5yo and sometimes does inexplicable things.
I would love to give him my old computer and use a new HP Pavillion. I can’t afford to buy a new computer at the moment, but it would be great to win one.

I have to admit I would love to own this laptop for me. I am a mom of four very busy kids and would love to have this laptop to use at the end of my busy day. My reason? My family would really benefit from a laptop. We are homeschooling our three children and our laptop broke. We currently don’t have a laptop and we have borrowed one from a friend. We will have to return it soon. Many homeschool curriculums require the use of a computer and the internet. Our kids would be very appreciative if they won the laptop.

What a wonderful giveaway especially for mother’s day. I have a laptop but it is big and hard to take with me to the many activities I’m sitting waiting for my kids. My battery only lasts about an hour if I’m lucky. The HP Pavilion dm1 with VISION Technology from AMD would be great to take with me everywhere. Oh the stuff I could accomplish!

I only own a desktop, and I would love a laptop. It would be so GREAT to not be away from the computer when I go out of town. Would love to have it portable also to be able to work on the computer no matter what room of the house the kiddos are in. Would be so much easier for me.

I currently have to take turns or schedule time to use our home computer having one of my own would help me with extra sleep time so I wouldn’t have to stay up late after everyone else went to bed or wake up extra early . I’d give this to my daughter to take to college. It would be perfect for that with the long battery life and size. It would make her life easier because right now she only has a netbook which has very little memory. So she has to use the college computer labs for most things, and this would enable her to work in her dorm room and hopefully get her assignments done sooner. O.K. she would probably still wait until the last minute, but I can dream.

Having this computer would make my life so much easier because I’m trying to write a book. I already spend hours a day at my desktop on my other projects, so I really don’t feel motivated to spend any more time there working on the book. But with a laptop, I can envision myself sitting up on some fluffy pillows on the bed or the couch and tapping away on the keyboard! I think I’d be so much more productive if I had the freedom to move around instead of being tied down to my desk.

I would love to WIN this Because i do Alot of Charity work for a Few Organizations, Make Mommy Playdates and always on the Go with the 5 Children i Have. It is very difficult to try and look things up at the centers for the Mothers we are trying to place into their own homes to find housing, furniture, Clothing and much. For this i say it would cut down my time by 1/2 because i am always waiting on a computer opening where ever i am that day to do research. Or just say i am with a client at the Dr. office or visiting a Battered Women that is entering our program at the hospital , I could be helping 24/7/365 🙂 God has truly Blessed me with the Charity work and My Family i have. Being able to take my work with me would make my life so much easier, I could be more productive and so could my husband as he owns his own business.

I need a laptop to use when traveling as I only have an older desktop.
I don’t have my own PC, so this one will be everything to me. I could shop online, download music, upload pictures etc
After my hip surgery it is difficult to get around… so with the help of HP I could do a bunch of things online… but most important – communicate with my friends and family!
I wish I could win this laptop! It will make my life much easy! I could then do a lot of stuff online: shop, pay bills, organize pictures and install Skype to talk to my Mom(who lives in Europe)

I currently haul my hubby’s 10 year old laptop around when I need “mobile” technology. It no longer even has a working battery and it has to weigh close to 10 pounds. It’s definitely a dinosaur. I would LOVE to have something just for me that I didn’t need to share with the kids either. My desktop is great, but having the mobility to work anywhere (home and while out and about) is definitely appealing!
I would use it for so many things, blogging, making cooking videos, entering my cooking contests that I love, sharing pics with family members that all live far away, I might even share it with my husband. This would be a great gift for this Mama of two.

I would love to have this to have access anywahere. I use my phone for facebook and such but that doesn’t give me the capablilty to actually accomplish anything when I am away from my computer.
Would love to win this 🙂 I need something lighter to do my work and easy to carry around. This sounds like a wonderful product and HP has a great reputation and superior customer service. I have six children, some small and some older. The older ones are always calling asking me to look up directions while the younger ones are needing help with homework done on the internet. This would really help with my flexibility instead of keeping me homebound.

Well, first off anything would be better than my current laptop. When I bought my current laptop I spent months and months saving my pennies to buy a laptop I could afford. Over the past two years it has gotten slower and more often than not my screen freezes and starts to go all fuzzy. I usually have to smack the back of my screen a few times to get it to work again. But sometimes I have to re-start the whole thing.
One thing is my laptop is heavy and bulky and lugging it on trips or even to use during my kids activities becomes hard, not to mention my battery lasts 20 minutes! yep! Unplugged my battery which says is fully charged dies after 20 minutes. *tear*
The dm1 not only would make blogging on the go easier for me, but I would be able to get more stuff done quicker and have more time leftover to spend with my family. With my current laptop it takes me a long time to get anything done because how slow it has gotten and the fuzzy screen (it just went fuzzy on me. ugh).

I purchased my laptop in 2003. While it’s held up incredibly well, it’s time for it to be retired.
I love the idea of a laptop that is both powerful and easier to carry around on trips- especially with since carry-on luggage only is becoming more the norm!

I actually have a laptop, but the best Mother’s Day gift to me would be knowing my husband has a laptop to take when he deploys so we can stay connected as well as we can. All he has is a desktop. With those stats though… I think I’d send him with mine and keep this beauty for myself.
Oh, the joy a laptop would bring to our house– the computer I have now is my work computer and is usually with me wherever I am. However, because it also doubles as our family computer, it is used by my kiddos at home, and seems to be coated with a thin layer of something (jelly? snot??) and actually missing buttons from the keyboard. I was just notified that I was awarded a scholarship at a local university so I can complete my bachelors degree, and a laptop would help me with my homework and taking notes in class.

Our current laptop had coffee spilled on it by my 5 year old. The letters A and Z do not work and the mouse on the laptop also does not work. Luckily we discovered an onscreen keyboard that we can use to type the A and the Z (do you know how many times the letter A is used? ALOT!). Plus we got a mouse to plug into the computer. It is a mess, but it works; however, a new laptop would be AWESOME! 🙂

This would be amazing to win! I need a new laptop so bad…right now I am anchored to the wall with the plug because it does not recognize the battery. So in order to move to another room I have to power down, unplug, move, plug it in and then power up. It is really a pain!
