I had a chance to check out a review model of the Kodak 8.2 megapixel EasyShare M853 Zoom Digital Camera. It is a basic point and shoot camera that performs well for a compact at an affordable price of $149.95. It has great features such as high-resolution 8.2 megapixel image sensor, 3x optical zoom, tons of scene modes to choose from, and Kodak’s EasyShare system.
The Kodak M853 would be a good camera for a beginner or for someone looking for a compact, basic point and shoot. I love the color of this camera, but the zoom feature leaves much to be desired. I have been using my old vid-cam with a 40X zoom for still photos. The advantages are: being able to zoom in and capture people’s faces from a distance. No more posed pictures, but how they REALLY are! Also great shots of wildlife and wonderful closeups of performers, actors and so on. The only disadvantage with capturing stills from an old vid cam is: the pixels are not up to snuff when compared to modern digital cameras! But if I win this camera, I will give it away and use the $50 at Kodak as part of the payment for a camera with a good zoom!

I am so tired of asking family and friends to send me pics of family events (and they are probably tired of making copies) because I don’t have my own camera. A DSLR camera (digital single lens reflex) is not for everyone. If you do not have the time and patience to learn about cameras and how to use them, then this camera is perfect for you. (I mean me) Give me Auto Mode. Point and click. Do the work for me. Then send someone along to remind me to take the camera out of the desk and use it. 🙂

My daughter would love this camera. She is 13 years old and has already gone through a cornea transplant, which was destroyed 6 months later at school by a teachr throwing a paper ticket into a crowd of kids. She also has a diease affecting both of her eyes which causes scarring of the cornea. She is depressed a lot and due to a lot of medical bills I can’t buy her a lot of things. Kodak is a good quality camera; the best brand ever. I absolutely love this fine color of red rose! It’s a gorgeous camera! It’s perfect for a Valentine’s Day giveaway. I would love to have one. I never owned a digtal camera before. But I have always been happy to buy Kodak disposable cameras and other older Kodak cameras (C-110, 35MM) in the past. Now it is time to upgrade. I would absolutely love to have this beautiful red colored camera to show off to my daughter when she and I go to Disney World for her spring break this year. I would normally want something like this for her, but since she already has a digital camera, I would love to have this one for myself, instead. This Kodak camera is definitely the prettiest color I’ve ever seen. It’s unique, and it has style.

As my kids get older, I realize that I should have been more diligent about pictures. I have three daughters who are in college and attending all sorts of formals, weddings and social events, so I could use a camera like this that is easy to grab and shoot pictures of moments I want to remember them in. My daughter was taken at age 5 by my parents because I was an alcoholic. I moved to Panama City Beach FL April 4, 2007 on her 19th birthday to live near her. I moved here with 10 1/2 yrs sobriety, my car payed off, and money saved for move after years of working two and three jobs. I really need a camera (I don’t own a camera at all) to catch up on life with her and preserve memories. Thanks
