Well, it’s summer break! While I love the gorgeous weather and getting to play outside with my kids, I do not love hearing the words “Mommy, I am bored.”
Yesterday was one of those long days and my kids were restless. Thankfully I was able to break out our Creation Cottage from KidsCraft. My kids love it!

Ingenious, isn’t it? I know that I could save money and just use a large box. Heck, my kids play with packing boxes too. Assembly was a breeze. The flaps and slots are specifically designed and pre-cut for easy assembly and can withstand hearty hours of play. My children have been a bit rough on their cottage. There was even a small rip, but it wasn’t anything that a little tape couldn’t fix.

I’d love a creation cottage! what a wonderful and creative way to spend an afternoon with kids.
The Creative Cottage would be my pick. It would be covered with paint, stickers, marker drawings, names, pictures from magazines would be glued all over (like pictures of clouds on the ceiling inside, pictures of flowers on the base of the outside of the house. On the inside they could draw kitchen appliances, a sofa with an open-end where they could put cushions to make it 3D. They could draw a picture frame and then put actual pictures of themselves in it with tape or a glue stick. I think I would let them finger-paint the roof with orange paint. Maybe play-dough or modeling clay could be used as a 3d doggies stuck to the side of the house, or on the inside. The “modeling clay” would probably stick to the side of the house to make a window box of flowers or a door knob or a frame-out for the window or on top of the chimney, and the could put a mouse/spider/lizard in model clay on top of the chimney or even Santa Clause’s boots, etc. I have 4 kids, so we would have it all from princess to reptiles on the outside and inside.

What an amazing idea! My son has more fun in the boxes that toys and such come in, then he does with what was actually in the box, lol.

This would be great for my twins birthday party! I can just see them painting or drawing on it with all their best friends as a party activity. Creation Cottage is adorable! My 18 month old son LOVES coloring and I can already see him scribbling away on this.
I grew up with a cardboard playhouse and loved it! I think these are so much better than the plastic houses.

We would love to win The Creation Cottage! It would keep my 3, 7 and 11 year olds busy for hours. They love to do pretend play.
