Yesterday, I downloaded all the pictures off of my camera onto my computer. It took forever. After waiting what seemed an eternity (but was likely no more than a few minutes), I called on my husband’s computer wizardry to figure out the problem.
“You’ve got too many pictures on the computer,” he told me. “You’re going to have to burn some onto a disc and clear out space on the hard drive.”
I hate burning my photos onto disc’s. I really enjoy having them all together in one safe place where I can look at them whenever I want (you know, because I’m certainly not going to develop them. How arcaic…ahem.)

I totally agree in that you cannot put a price on your precious family memories and unfortunately my husband and I had to learn that the hard way last July when our beloved computer died. Long story short, we ended up having to have the entire hard drive rebuilt on our computer and we lost so many image and video files as a result of that. We were very lax in backing up our files on a regular basis, never thinking ahead that a situation like that would have occurred, so we were, as you can imagine devasted. Some of our family members were able to share with us some files they had of our 3 children that we had given them, so I would say about 25% of what we lost we were able to retrieve through them. If I were to present my husband with this amazing HP MediaSmart Server, it would literally rock his world, he would be beyond thrilled to put it mildly! Thanks so much for the chance to enter.

We had to do a recovery a while back and the biggest concern was the photos that were on the hard drive. We have tons of them. This would be a great way to assure their safety.

I would love this not just for all those priceless digital photos of family, friends, and our cats, but also for the old photos that DH has scanned and cleaned up. We both do graphic design as well, and some of those files are huge and we don’t want to lose all the time and effort that have gone into creating them, not to mention that they are part of our portfolio.

Wow – we have so many photos on our computer and they are only backed up on my mother-in-laws external harddrive. We have probably transferred pics from our camera 4-5 times since the last time we backed everything up. If anything ever happened to our computer, the HP MediaSmart Server would be golden.

Um, this would be a gift to my husband because then I would quit complaining at him about my pictures!!! Case in point, one of my CD’s is fried and I lost some pictures from my son’s first birthday. Ugh!
My DH is crazy afraid of losing his music. Tons of songs he has written and recorded are in his PC and he has bunches of discs burned. This would save alot of cataloging and time.

You can’t imaginve how badly we could use the HP MediaSmart Server LX195. We use our computer an overwhelming amoutnt of time for so many things that we’re involved in. My husband constantly worries about the computer crashing and the sluggyness of how it’s running due to the quantityy of files and photos that are stored on it. Everything stored on it is necessary to have on hand, quick to retrieve at any given moment. There’s no time to burn everything onto discs and no time to dig and sort through the discs in search of the right one for what is needed. When it’s needed, it’s needed NOW! There’s so much at risk if our computer goes down.
So often we are unaware that so many things exist our there such as the HP MediaSmart Server LX195 to make our lives run smoother.
Thank you for always bringing us the latest and greatest information on products that are available to us.
My husband would be on cloud nine if he was given this as a gift. He always worries about the computer crashing and would be relieved to finally have a solution.

My hubs is a complete geek and is the director of IT operations at a large marketing firm. He gets to work with stuff like this all the time there, but has nothing like it for himself. I’m sure he’d love to have a way to backup all his projects, not to mention our photos and videos!
My husband is always telling me that we need to back up our endless photos, music and such! It would bring peace of mind to know everything was stored somewhere safe.

i’ve actually been looking into refurbing an old machine to act as a server, because our hard-drives are bursting, and we so need to get our media organized and centralized! We so need this!
